So I found this old turntable in my basement...
It's a quality turntable mid-range solid player and very good speed wow/flutter specs. For some reason.. Hitachi puts Direct Drive on this series, makes this version with a pitch control + - and the model one up from this with QUARTZ lock but NO pitch control. Very weird.. too bad Quartz lock...- freqazoidiac

Of course it's my point of view, but you don't add , based on my education of sound and direct experience. I must add you are being silly referring to my kilos of vinyl and that being a problem. Aside from being a DJ, which I have ripped most important play audio to at least 16/44 - for use in...- freqazoidiac

AirPods
You will see these dropped on floors everywhere you go in a few months. Crushed, lost, mis-matched. One will find just 1 of 2. How do you replace the 2nd one you just lost? Not everything is magnetic. So that's something I will start off with. 2nd - they are absolutely a mediocre product with...- freqazoidiac

Review by 'freqazoidiac' on item 'Audio-Technica ATH-AD900'
I bought my pair on the used market, sold in the area by a very serious audio fan. I have waited one year of use to do this review. They were in perfect shape when bought and I got spoiled by the price, $80.00. The cable length is long but not too long like some Sony headphones I had...- freqazoidiac

Part 3 of the previous two posts. I'm just posting information about the equipment and method used to make this test to determine the real output of the Ipods in discussion. What was key to processing the 24bit digital audio is the Mackie U.420 series (discontinued) It has a unique...- freqazoidiac

Ipod Classic, best bitrate and sample rate
Onto an earlier Ipod. My personal favorite in sound has always been the Ipod 3rd Generation (and I love the way it looks and feels) with Firewire. Same test as above starting with 16/48 .aiff 30 sec file ___________below - 30 second file played through spark XL ...- freqazoidiac

Ipod Classic, best bitrate and sample rate
Here is some proof of why there is no REASON to bother with 24 bit files on the Ipod classic 5th gen. (a continuation of my previous post) File dithered from 24/96 to 16/48 using 'ultrabitmax' in Spark XL running mac 10.6.8. The original source is from Vinyl of 1965 recording from...- freqazoidiac

Ipod Classic, best bitrate and sample rate
I will chime in with my personal tests and experience. Stereophile thread about another player but discuss the Ipod truncating - http://www.stereophile.com/content/astellampkern-ak100-portable-media-player I'm testing with Ipod classic v5 from the mid 2000's. Official Ipod Video / Classic 5g+5.5g+6g+6.5g+7g SSD Mod thread
Can you direct me to your FINAL summary of what works and what does not work. There are 300 plus pages and I can't find the results of your test and no one else is replying to my request of what DEFINITELY WORKS with a Ipod 5th gen. Great thread but I don't see a SOLUTION sticky anywhere...- freqazoidiac

ALAC vs. FLAC
Because there is no difference. The differences are the file size and encoding / decoding factors. :D- freqazoidiac

Review by 'freqazoidiac' on item 'Sony MDR-XD100 Stereo Headphones'
I bought 2 pairs of this at Shoppers Drug mart in Canada for around $20.00 a pair. I was immediately impressed with the sound quality and neutral balance. I have read many reviews of people saying these lack bass. I disagree. I do not enjoy bass dominant mixes and this is a statement made by...- freqazoidiac
