    Amp for DT990 250ohm

Quote: They most certainly do! Whenever you have some extra cash, look on eBay or here on Head-Fi (although you can probably get a better deal on eBay) for a used MKII or MKIII. It takes patience (I waited about a month), but I got my MKIII off of eBay for $170 including shipping. Then sell...

    Amp for DT990 250ohm

Quote: Yeah man this is my first headphone setup as well, even bought the Z new for it. I could not be happier, and I am glad your enjoying your setup as well!   I would suggest sometime in the future upgrading to a Little Dot MKII or MKIII, I LOVE this amp, the tubes are so much fun...

    Amp for DT990 250ohm

Just an FYI as well, I just recieved my Little Dot MKIII today - I thought my cans were good before on my Sound Blaster Zx, boy they have opened up now. Trust me, they should suit all your needs and destroy your old headphones. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! Yeah I'm excited at this is my first tube amp... Are those IBMs driver tubes? I just got Voskhods, are they better than those overall?

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on some 1983 Novosibirsk 6N6P-IR's over the 6H30Pi's for my MKIII, mainly because of price. I think they should pair well with my Voskhod 6ZH1P-EV's and my DT990, hopefully I like them!    Now for the wait...

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

Quote: I can't seem to find Siemens or Telefunken's on eBay... just so i'm straight, these power tubes require no modification, just plug-and-play, correct?   Are they really that much better than 6N6P-IR, or 6H30Pi's?    I've been looking...

    Amp for DT990 250ohm

I have the DT 990 Pro and the Zx, waiting for my MKIII to come in the mail. I can report back with how it works when I get it, but from what I read it will be great. Even an MKII should suffice.    I'm using the DAC on the card, I think its pretty decent, any upgrade would cost significantly...

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

Quote: To be honest, I kind of want to stick to tubes that I just just plug in, with no modification. That's why I made sure I was purchasing a rev.2 board as well. I might look into this down the line for sure, but for now I just want to plug in a new one easily and start listening

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

Quote: Hey man, thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. Well I definitely DO NOT have the time to read 600 pages of this thread, however I have been sporadically reading and that is where I came up with those two tubes... now you have me questioning my choice about the Voshkods, lol.   ...

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide

Hey guys, so I recently bought a MKIII off of eBay with some Voshkod tubes for my DT990 Pro and Sound Blaster Z.    Now I am in a little bit of a pickle in regards to tube rolling the power tubes... it is a rev.2 board, so I am considering the Novosibirsk 6H6P-I and the Electro Harmonix...

New to headphones/the forums - introducing myself and looking for suggestions.

Hey everybody, my name is Frankie, new to Head-Fi so I just wanted to introduce myself and ask for some suggestions.   About a month ago I upgraded from an old Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer to a Sound Blaster Zx for $110. Upon purchasing the new sound card, I noticed that this card had an...
