if you can get the Denon's at $230 I would say go for it. Amp or no amp you will be very happy with your purchase, but as always an amp would make them better.

You ever heard the Ultrasone Pro 750? Are they worth the extra over the HIFI 780's?

Finally got my phones today! I can say that, with a little bit of tweaking, these headphones fulfill all my needs. Positional audio in these are second to none, and increasing the dB makes the bass in these much better than I had imagined. I really appreciate all the recommendations for this...

Thanks for the input guys. I've ordered myself a pair of Sennheiser HD595's. Prefer the look and I hear they perform much better in games. I just hope they're better than my current SteelSeries Siberias.
