    Campfire - Solaris

Bold move not putting solaris in their protective case, I guess the paint proved to be more resilient than the Andromedas which used to have chipping issues?

Nice and cheap, ordered one. Might get some foam to pad it out a bit to further protect against shocks

Didn't realise JVC released a new spin fit, they're eye wateringly expensive though  paid $50 for 3x L and 3x ML without shipping. They're my prefer tips though :p What size pelican case would fit the Solaris best? My leather case is getting kind of scratched up

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

I tested them quite far apart so it's difficult to compare, but even compared to the U12 I found the U18 wasn't a massive step up in detail, and you could hear that it was tuned differently as the bass was noticeably more subdued than the U12. I'm afraid I can't give much detail, but the U18...

    CanJam London 2019 Impressions thread

I took the opportunity to listen to the Atlas and Equinox at CA given I haven't listened to their DD IEMs, and the stand was always busy whilst I was there lol

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Tried it at Canjam, it's insanely detailed. I tried the Phantom, Valkyrie, Legend X, Noble Khan, 64 U12 and U18 and along with my own Solaris I'd have to say it's the most detailed listen I've had The Legend X is a more fun listen though, think I'll look to get that later if I ever replace my...

    CanJam London 2019 (July 27-28, 2019)

Was intending to test out the U12 and U18 so those will probably have a decent queue. By moving down the line do you mean move onto the next display IEM or back of the queue?

    CanJam London 2019 (July 27-28, 2019)

Might be attending CanJam for the first time, what's the etiquette for testing IEMs? Presumably you don't want to be hogging them for a long time

Not all male singers are gods like Freddie Mercury who can reach those high octaves

    Campfire - Solaris

That's what it seems like, although as noted earlier it's only on some songs and not all of them which is what's really weird. From what I've heard so far (since I've been primarily testing with female vocals) male vocals sound fine with no noticeable issues? Probably need to test them more

    Campfire - Solaris

That's what I've settled on as well, there's a noticeable hiss if IEM match isn't enabled but Ultra seems to change the signature whilst not using eco will blow your eardrums

    Campfire - Solaris

Anyone using an iFi black label to drive their Solaris, what settings have you found best? Unlike the Andro which was 1-ohm soundstage's analysis put the Solaris at around 5-18 ohms as expected from its hybrid design, and it feels like putting IEM match in Ultra reduces the treble or boosts the...

    Campfire - Solaris

To be fair I suddenly remembered that the Andromeda was supposed to be vertical as well when I saw it. It was either in the Andromeda manual (having skipped the Solaris manual :p) or because of the fact the CA logo is only correctly oriented when the IEM is vertical
