Walkman NWZ F886 officialy announced!! [192khz/24bits]

I am looking at the F886 as an upgrade to my NWZ-A829 Can anyone comment on differences in sound quality to the A829 or similar generation Sony DAP? Will the F886 drive my Marshall Monitors well? Looks like some people are using it with large cans, while others say it is only for IEMs. I do...

    32 ohm earphones max 150 $

I am looking for some 32 ohm earphones, costing no more than 150 $ max.   SQ wise they should at least match my Etymotic ER6I   I like the fit of the Sennheiser CX 300 (not the SQ though).   Any suggestions please?

Will 32 ohm earphones lower volume and reduce hiss?

Thanks for the elaborate explanation! I have a Sansa clip that I use for sports. I guess the easiest is to just use that - since it is so small - rather than trying to "fix" the phone.

Will 32 ohm earphones lower volume and reduce hiss?

Drivability - can you explain that? You mean it requires more power to deliver a given level of volume, and so introduces artefacts in the proces?

Will 32 ohm earphones lower volume and reduce hiss?

There is hardly any hiss with the Sony, maybe a very small amount with the Etymotics, but none with the PX100 or Yuins. It is a really good player, its just more convenient to use the phone when I am commuting etc.   The Desire has terrible hiss.

Will 32 ohm earphones lower volume and reduce hiss?

I don't doubt you are right, trouble is, when I look at my current earphones it doesn't make sense. I own these:   Etymotic ER6I impedance 16 ohm sesitivity 108 db   Yuin PK2 imp 16 ohm sensitivity 108 db   sennheiser CX300 imp 16 ohm sensitivity 113 db  ...

Will 32 ohm earphones lower volume and reduce hiss?

For serious listening I use a Sony NWZ-A829 with Ety ER6I. For commuting and at work I use my HTC Desire with Sennheiser CX300. I have two problems with the Desire:   1 the ER6I and the CX300 are too loud, even with the phone at lowerst volume. They are also loud with the Sony which I set...

Sony docks for NWZ-A82X has anyone got them? (VRC-NW10 and BCR-NWU5)

I can't find anything about these docks! How is the audio output quality? How does the recording from tv work? Can they both charge and output to stereo or do I need both of the docks, if I want all these functions? Any comments appreciated!

    Your Favourite Pink Floyd Album?

Can anyone recommend any particular recording/press/version of Meddle? Wiki lists 4 versions: 1. 1971 original 2. 1984 MFSL remaster 3. 1989 Ultradisc remaster 4. 1992 Doug Sax remaster (from Shine On and later stand-alone issue) # 2+3 are most likely too expensive for me. If I buy it...

    Because Society Doesn't Allow It

As a side note I find that very loud live music sounds much better when wearing eraplugs.

    Because Society Doesn't Allow It

I used to think earplugs were stupid. At your age I went to an AC/DC concert and had tinitus for 2 days after. I thought I had permanently lost my hearing, it scared me no end. Thankfully my hearing came back. It was the loudest concert I have ever been to and I realized why: most of the crowd...

    Your Favourite Pink Floyd Album?

For me PF was always a different band from the rest, my favorite albums are those that stand out concept-wise as a whole. Because of this, Wish You Were Here is not my favorite album, despite "Shine on" part 1 being my favorite PF song. The rest of the album just fades after this first song...
