New, Burson Playmate 9038 DAC, 2Wpc HeadAmp, Preamp, Changeable opamps.
Just a heads up, dk if already was said but: the volume reset issue only occurs when gain is set to low! Setting it to high, fixes it for me and makes the playmate more conveniant- Elocai

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)
@Onik ok, seems you have a new psu, so shouldn´t be an issue then. Well lets see what Burson says. Can confirm that their Playmates background is dead silent / black even with sensitive headphones. But that Product arrived just some days ago so reviews are scare, imo it´s better then then Play...- Elocai

New: Burson Audio Play Amp/DAC (2W@16Ohm) (op-amp rollers dream)
@Onik post a picture of your power supply, that was the issue with mine. op-amps won´t have any impact, also check if the hissing persists with usb disconnected- Elocai

New, Burson Playmate 9038 DAC, 2Wpc HeadAmp, Preamp, Changeable opamps.
Audio performance steadily increases so far, I like it at least double as much as the first time plugged it in. Started to play a bit with APO and a sound generator to get a flat response with my Headphones/Ears/Resonances, and found there is some crosstalk between the channels. So far I don´t...- Elocai

@raoultrifan you should just read the manual/product page/this thread/play thread, 3 opamps was the design of Burson Play.- Elocai

New, Burson Playmate 9038 DAC, 2Wpc HeadAmp, Preamp, Changeable opamps.
@raoultrifan 2 Dual Opamps per channel, 1 for LPF and one I/V each. From my observation it´s one dac, a very small (mobile) chip, which sits below the USB-PCB. You can somewhat see it in the first picture, it´s the one with some space around. Could do some good high-res pics if anyone...- Elocai

New, Burson Playmate 9038 DAC, 2Wpc HeadAmp, Preamp, Changeable opamps.
I use torx screwdrivers, and torx are the only good screws. Starting with my Issues so far: 1. inside the case there is a sticker that shows which function the op-amps have in a simple shematic, but the orientation of the op-amps are wrong in that shematic so if you focus on that you could...- Elocai

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
You're on Win10, they implented a new audio path, increasing volume insanely over Win7. But you can actually decrease the Volume by 15db so volume control is useful again.- Elocai

I had a Soundblaster ZXR, and now I´m left with 2 Burson V5 Dual or 2 Burson V6 Vivid - what should i get to use them again? Buying the ZXR again is not an option.- Elocai

Asus STX II Vs Creative ZXR
I have both, and in stock configuration, with stock amps the Z beats the ZXR IMO. The ZXR tends to be more harsh in the highs leading to listening fatique, also the bass is undefined and bloated on the zxr. Z is cheaper, but also has a better balanced sound, better highs and less listening...- Elocai

Asus STX II Vs Creative ZXR
So you've got the ZXR+V5i's for 200 Bucks and you dont like it? I liked the Z alot so i bought the ZxR (99€). IMO the Z is superior to the ZxR in soundquality, so I'll try V5's and the coupling mod to see where the sound goes. One problem I had were emmissions from the gpu so i used an EMI...- Elocai

Orgy of Capacitors: The Cap Thread
For capacity the rated number is reached officially (in industry caps) after 1000hrs of use. Most changes happen in the first 10hrs. You can check standart industry caps that come with documentation (e.g. Wima) there you'll find logarhitmic graphs that show this behavior. Soldering "resets"...- Elocai
