You can! The R3II will show up as a renderer. You can even have the R3 connected to your phone via Wi-Fi hotspot and cast that way.

The R3 can only display baseline JPEGs. If you see artwork that isn't displaying, there's a good chance it's progressive. This is a limitation of the SoC the player uses.

Syncthing has been working well for me. I used to have the Android app run on a Hiby R5 directly. Now I just use the Windows application(Syncthing also supports Mac) pointing to the SD card drive letter. As soon as I plug the card in, the application will start syncing my library with it.

I didn't know that was an issue with the R2s. I wonder if that's what happened to me as well. I'm usually pretty good about shutting the device down when I'm done with it.

I had the same issue the other day. Switching from a USB C-C to a USB A-C cable seemed to resolve it and I was able to charge. The device was completely discharged at that point. After it had an initial charge, I could use any cable type again. Very odd.

The R3II does not force you to scan when inserting a microSD card or after powering on. There is an option to enable autoscan in the settings, but it is disabled by default.

Just purchased a second-hand R5S from a fellow Head-Fier a few weeks ago. Really loving this device. I owned the R3 Pro, but found the sound signature not to my taste. I definitely prefer the R5S over it. I was perusing this thread for any info on screen protectors, but don't see much on here...
