The Sennheiser HD580 Impressions Thread
How much did it cost you? They are definitely not as described so you have grounds for a return, however if you like it other than those things that were worn, get the partial refund. It's not worth overpaying for those particular Sennheiser parts as foam is foam. I've bought all those parts...- dvsone

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Just discovered an ebay seller from China wang_yifei is selling memory foam replacement earpads for HD600 et al. I've always wanted a denser foam for my HD580, I wish the pad added some thickness as I prefer my ear not touch the opposite side but oh well. It looks to use some type of pleather...- dvsone

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Music to my ears as a HD580 owner (I have HD600 grills on them, also replaced headband pad and put on velour earpads on them from China), they are still going strong. I thought about "upgrading" to the HD600 when I saw them for $229 a few week ago but held off. I'll just proudly use my HD580s...- dvsone

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I'd say for 22 years of service, you got more than your money's worth out of them! Just curious, do you think the drivers failed due to any fault of your own? For example did you accidentally play something on max volume? Or do you think the material just naturally degraded after all that time...- dvsone

Replacement earpads for HD580 / HD600 / HD650 from Ebay seller from China?
I received my ear pads a few days ago, so it took about a week to get here, pretty fast considering it was from China. I'm happy with what I received, I'd order again. Pics are below, my ~10 year old original pads are on top, new ones from China are below them. I got the foam discs too but they...- dvsone

At a minimum, if they end up replacing the earpads and headband pad for that price, you'll have received your money's worth as the earpads in particular are expensive to order from Senn.- dvsone

I'm curious, how much is Senn charging you for this RMA? If it's free given the age of your cans, that would be something.- dvsone

Shopping for a jack-of-all-trades open headphone.
Is it possible to get positional surround sound from them when you're gaming? Given the price you paid, I hope so. Isn't that all software anyways?- dvsone

Replacement earpads for HD580 / HD600 / HD650 from Ebay seller from China?
Yep, the prices have gone up some so they are like $70-$80 last time I checked. Too bad I didn't stock up back then when it was more fairly priced. I went ahead and placed an order, he also sold the foam discs which I also ordered. Total price I paid was $37.96 for a pair of new earpads and...- dvsone

Replacement earpads for HD580 / HD600 / HD650 from Ebay seller from China?
I've kept my original pads on my HD580s as they are still usable, however I've wanted to replace them with new pads but got turned off by the price of new pads which is around $80. On Ebay there's a seller from China offering replacement for less than half that price (~$30). Anyone ever try them...- dvsone

Iriver2 - a mini review
The more I think about it, I'll probably a MP3 portable w/ built in hard drive rather than a MP3 cd player. I've seen 6GB and 20GB models available (Nomad and Archos are the makers), you can pick up a 6GB version for about as much as a SP250. 6GB is more than enough to store my entire collection...- dvsone
