Can an Qudelix-5K drive HD-6XX adequately with balanced cables?
I just got the Qudelix-5K and am considering getting the HD-6XX with balanced cables to use with it. For $250 delivered this seems like a great deal, but I don't know if the Qudelix has enough power for these. Thoughts? FWIW, if this is not a viable combination, I am also considering the HIFIMAN...- Dolphran

The Qudelix-5K thread
Can someone comment on what the microphone of the 5k is like making phone calls? Is the built-in mic usable (vs. a headset mic on the 4-pin connector)? Does it offer any noise canceling? Is it resistant to wind noise? How does the 5K compare to the BTR5 in this regard? I'm about to buy one or...- Dolphran

Shure SE215 losing seal on stage
Triple flanges don't work so well for me. My question specifically was whether Comply (TX100) will hold a seal with jaw movement better than the Shure Olives?- Dolphran

Shure SE215 losing seal on stage
I use SE215 (blue LTDs) for monitoring on stage. I'm a singer, and sometimes my jaw movements cause the seal to break (especially in my left ear for some reason). I'm using the large olives. Can someone tell me if the comply TX-100s are likely to provide a better seal in this situation? Thanks!- Dolphran

Replacment for MEElectronics Clarity Series CC51-BK Ceramic
My MEE CC51-BK Ceramic IEMs have died and I'm looking for a replacement. I liked their sound and for reference in this price range I also like my Jays V-Jays (not IEMs). The key things I want in a replacement other than sound and price are the same level of sound isolation, and the same low...- Dolphran

If I love AKG Sextett will I like MEE CC51?
I'll reply to my own question here: Definitely YES. I'm not saying the CC51s sound just like the Sextetts, but they have enough in common to put a big smile on my face. I'm Very happy with these.- Dolphran

If I love AKG Sextett will I like MEE CC51?
I really love the sound of my AKG K240 Sextett (MP) headphones. I'm looking for something with a similar sound signature that I can drive from my Android phone (no amp). I am concidering getting the MEElectronics CC51 which seem like a great value. Can anyone comment on how the sound of these...- Dolphran

Comparing the AKG K240(600), M-Audio Q40, AIAIA TMA-1, and Sony MDR-V6
After a little research on my K240s (the 's' is making the term plural, not meaning S for Studio), I have determined that mine are defintely Sextetts, and think of the Mid-Production variety. I find I'm not the only one here who love's these particular phones. My question now is: What...- Dolphran

Comparing the AKG K240(600), M-Audio Q40, AIAIA TMA-1, and Sony MDR-V6
This is my first post here, and you'll please forgive me if my comparison does not follow the full shootout format of the popular reviews here. I feel compelled to post this because of my great surprise recently upon picking up some new headphones and comparing them to ones I've had for a...- Dolphran
