Workout headphones /w Sennheiser HD 598 cable?
After a loooong hiatus it's time to return to the gym world. It's been years, and I can't find my old bass boom IEMs (Nuforce NE-700X) anywhere. And who uses wires anyway, it's 2023 :) I thought that maybe, just maybe, a pair of decent sounding closed headphones that use same cable that HD 598...- dogilainen

Any decent "bang for buck" custom cable makers within EU left? I have used oidiosound (.co.uk) before, and have been completely satisfied with their products, but Brexit means customs charges and 24 % taxes on top of the original price (that has gone up quite a lot), so even the shortest...- dogilainen

Oh no! Just when I had peacefully fallen to sleep, waiting for the S2 price to drop to around 450.. I don't want to buy headphones that I know I'll want to replace pretty soon, but that price.. €199. Makes me wonder would I really miss the bass, or be irritated by the lack of it, that much...- dogilainen

For those who have had a pleasure to listen to 600, 650 and 660S2: Do you think it would make any sense to have 660S2 and also 600 or 650? Could they compliment each other, when listening to different kind of music to the extent that would justify buying both? If you do think this makes sense...- dogilainen

Wow, that Eminem& 50 Cent really surprised me, in a good way! It must have -some- low end for that kind of stuff to sound (really) good. At the moment I'm going through Hifiman Edition XS vs Sennheiser reviews, and in addition to comparing the two, I'm trying to understand how low impedance...- dogilainen

Would you mind opening up what "every kind of music" means, in your case, Sir. I'm still undecided about what headphones to order. Been using 598's for years, and while I love the clarity and the huge and somehow "airy" soundstage, they really don't impress in the lower frequencies. While I'd...- dogilainen

Fiio BTR7 or Ifi go Blu DAC. Deciding which one to go for.
At the moment 660S2 costs €599,99 and 650 costs €295.. so it's quite clear 650 blows 660S2 out of the water from pure value for money point of view, but.. if I keep missing the bass with 650, it kind of does not make sense to buy them, no matter how cheap 🙁 I'm trying to make me forget the...- dogilainen

Fiio BTR7 or Ifi go Blu DAC. Deciding which one to go for.
I just made a quick visit to shop selling Sennheisers and was able to briefly listen to HD660S and HD 650. Maybe I was imagining things, or more like imagining the lack of things, but 660S's sounded a bit.. muddy, from lower mid / low end, if that is possible(!?). Then again the 650's sounded...- dogilainen

Fiio BTR7 or Ifi go Blu DAC. Deciding which one to go for.
I prefer to buy headphones and receiver separately, just because I think headphones will live longer than current batteries / BT codecs. I expect to get 10/+ years out of quality headphones, but won't even dream of often used Nimh battery to last so long. Even if the headphones use replaceable...- dogilainen

Fiio BTR7 or Ifi go Blu DAC. Deciding which one to go for.
After a day of immersing myself into these receivers (= reading about them), I think I'm going to go with BTR7. Just to be on the safe side with output / power. I don't think the size will bother me.much, if I attach it smack in the middle of the headband, on top of my head. These will be used...- dogilainen

Wow, this thread is gold. Let me hijack it for my needs ;) Situation now: Sennheiser HD 598 with ES100 attached to the headband with a Velcro. Problem: 598 has reached the end of the road. They work, but are held in one piece by tape. Also, the battery life of ES100 is significantly lower...- dogilainen

Care to elaborate? Is it the Squishmallow, the almost too short cable or what :) And sorry if I ruined your day :D- dogilainen

Ah, sorry for not understanding you right away. Had to use Google to remember that "dongle" refers to USB device  My source is BT and all devices used have to be able to be attached to the headphones. This is how I use my HD 598 / ES100 mk1 set: But now we are way out of the topic...- dogilainen

Ok, so HD 660 S2 would be too much to handle for ES100 (or for IFI Go Blu that I'm considering, that ES100 mk1 is getting old). Just to clarify (English is my 3rd language, so I don't "read between the lines" too well): Your "dongles with separate op amps" are not small/light/portable, but...- dogilainen

Would ES100 be enough to run these cans? I've been happy with ES100 mk1 & Sennheiser HD 598 combo, but the time has come to update the headphones. I want something that is light enough, won't squeeze my fairly large head to a raisin and can be ran with ES100 / Qudelix / insert your favourite...- dogilainen
