for those that have used the wired Etymotics, are there any tips out there that would get me a similar seal as one could get with the Ety tips for my Shanling MTW100? even with the smallest tips after insertion it slides back out a few seconds later, not enough to fall off, but that seal is gone

you wrong... you can relock the bootloader to return to your original state. not sure how you can blame Google. they provide the manufacturers the base and its the manufacturers that change it how they like

until manufacturers and cell companies sell phones without all the unnecessary crap, rooting will always be necessary. also, warranty voided due to root is a common myth. rooting does not void your warranty as you can always return to stock
