Does anyone on head-fi (or another board) make a custom, or hand-built, adapter? I'd rather buy one of those if available.

I'll be using KSC35's, Marshmallows, maybe K 81 DJ's.

Or is there much of a difference? I just got a 1st gen iPhone and thought you guys could help me choose the right one. With so many threads containing "iPhone" and "adapter" I was having trouble swimming through the search results. Thanks!

The mini has a Microdrive hard disk in it. I guess Microdrives are just really quiet. I should have mentioned that I can clearly hear the drive in the classic when it's sitting on my desk, roughly 2 feet from my head. No need to hold it up to my ear.

I'm looking to get a vintage Marantz receiver. Thus far I've read (in another forum) that any 22xx models are well regarded. Does anyone have anything to add to that, or possibly disagree with that? What are the most recommended, or respected, models for amp quality, all vintage models...

And would there be any reason to get the 2GB Insignia over the 4GB? Is there any difference other than capacity?

Can the UM1 only be ordered directly from Westone? $110 is a bit out of my price range.
