Ever since wearing my custom IEMs, people become very very nice to me...

Correct me if I was wrong, I think the whole custom IEMs thing started with hearing aid device industry.

[Review] Brainwavz HM5, A New Neutral Champ

It is great to see smaller manufacturers focus not only on IEMs but also some full size headphones. Great for can-mans like me!

    Differences between Denons (D2000, D5000, D7000)

both D5000 and d2000 might need some mod to sound the best, while D7000 sounds fantastic out of the box.

How does price affect quality, and does hearing that quality require a trained ear?

300$ to 400$ for a dac-amp-headphoens rig is probably the sweet spot. I guess you can get 95% sound quality of this, add 2000$ for additional 3% and probably 10000$ for 1 more % and ∞ for the last 1%.

How does price affect quality, and does hearing that quality require a trained ear?

Quote:   Some superior equipment with little investment to start with Koss 75 ( might be with a little bit Kramer mod, very easy), porta pro, creative auvana live! (Denon 1001).

How does price affect quality, and does hearing that quality require a trained ear?

I  found some people just can not tell the quality of sound or they just do not care? For example, my wife.

    Typical First Time Buyer

that is good amount of money, exactly fit in for the Beyer DT1350. Current king of the portable headphones, also built for professional use. Neutral and rich sound, bass goes deep but not in excess quantity. I recommend these without any reservation especially for your editing work and enjoyment...
