It is. The sex is a very good tube amp. The mainline is, well I can't even image where to go from here. One thing I would note about the mainline though... it reveals what you feed it with and what you feed it into. When I went from the Gumby the Yggy there was no question of the difference...

I upgraded the rectifier. To be honest by the time the tube opened up ( burned in ), about 30 hours, I couldn't tell you the difference. But it's only $10 more so, so what. Unless you've put alot of hours on the tubes and they are ready for replacement, I wouldn't bother. I've upgrade tubes...

I wouldn't expect a Freya 2 anytime in the near future. Frey isn't that old and I don't think Schiit has up'd the version in less than 3 years. Though, ya, give the price of good tubes. I'd love to see that feature.

I've heard a difference when applied to NOS tubes. But I'm guessing it depends on how corroded or dirty ( finger oils etc ) the pins are. Once cleaned the first time repeat cleanings have never done any good.

Wow I can feel the love. Only it sounds a little etched, maybe a bit too bright, perhaps a bit rolled off in the civility.

And I just thought everybody who had said the Gumby and Yggy are almost indistinguishable was insane ( I own both and they aren't close at all ). Turns out my Yggy that shipped in October came with Analog 2. Yay I don't have to spend $600!!!

MJ2 isn't that much better. I have the MJ2 and the Crack + Speedball. Crack I'd put somewhere between the Lyr2 and the MJ2 on most things, but the MJ2 is really is harsh and tubes don't help that much, Crack vs MJ2 at least for me is really a question of what you prefer. Ya loose some detail...
