    Lake People G109 / G103 thread

For the G103 vs G109, this article is informative and has good photos: https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/lake-people-g103p-and-g109p-headphone-amplifiers For the G109P vs G111, the differences should be very subtle. You have to ask @ArthurPower or @fdg . G109S = Standard = RCA inputs G109P...

    Audeze LCD-X repair cost

TLDR: It costs $580 (USD) to repair the Audeze LCD-X headphones. The left-side diaphragm of my LCD-X tore in half. It probably tore because I had one side off my ear while singing, and the magnet assembly twisted slightly. I know it tore because it wasn't making sound, and I opened it up to...

Violectric HPA V280 - balanced headphone amp - impressions and discussion thread

Also consider the Lake People HPA RS 08. I believe Fried considers it better than the V181. Lake People is Violectric's "music studio" brand, so the cosmetics are less fancy.

Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People

You're saying that Fried is building the Niimbus series for profit, not passion ? I seriously doubt it !

Niimbus Ultimate Series US4/US4+/US5/US5 Pro Headphone Amps - by Lake People

Because I can't tell V100 from V200 ! Okay, maybe if I tried really hard, but it would be splitting hairs.

Violectric HPA V280 - balanced headphone amp - impressions and discussion thread

On the V280, V281, and RS08, the balanced out is always balanced. Doesn't matter which inputs you use.

    Review: Violectric HPA V200 amp

I meant the V100 and V200. But I can't tell the G109-P apart either. In fact, the G109-P is my primary amp, because it stacks nicely with the RS 06 DAC. G109-P = XLR inputs, G109-S = RCA inputs. P stands for Professional. While we're at it, I can't tell the RS 06 from the V800. I'm middle-aged...

    Review: Violectric HPA V200 amp

A V100 is (basically) a G109 in a nicer case. Fried (the designer) has said that it's more accurate (but less musical) than a V200. I have both, and I can't tell them apart. Here's the G109 thread: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/lake-people-g109-g103-thread.620082/

Violectric HPA V280 - balanced headphone amp - impressions and discussion thread

On macOS, Tenor requires a driver, but XMOS doesn't. On Windows XP, Tenor runs but XMOS doesn't. There may be other issues. You can google tenor vs xmos. Here's the driver download page from Violectric USA: Violectric 24/192 Microsoft XMOS *Windows 7 ~ 10 Violectric 24/192 Apple OS-X XMOS...

    Review: Violectric HPA V200 amp

With TRS, the two signals share a ground. With 4-pin XLR, the two signals have separate grounds. So you need an adapter that connects the two XLR grounds (the minus signals) to the S (shield) of the TRS.

Violectric DAC V850 - General Discussion and Impressions Thread

There is no "280 v2 DAC".  If you can be more precise, we can answer you better.   Here's a summary of Violectric's four DACs.  I own the built-in DAC, V800, and RS 06 (but not the V850).  I can hear the difference between the built-in DAC and the V800, but I can't describe it.  I prefer...
