Sounds like a ground loop spitting noisy switching noise into your signal ground. Usual fixes are making sure your amp and grounded source (laptop) are on the same outlet. ebTech HumX usually does the trick. you may be fine with the upgrade gear, it’s hard to guarantee though.

We use HPLC Grade Isopropanol and HPLC Acetone at work. Not cheap stuff at around $80 a gallon.
