    The Video Game Music Thread

I really like the Nier soundtrack for the melancholic atmosphere. And despite the gibberish, the vocals work exceptionally well. But for more upbeat and electronica, the Hotline Miami OST was really good and it reflected really well with the saturated and old style of the game. As if the...

From hifi to head-fi. I'm (almost) completely lost

Yes you can get the O2 and the ODAC separately. JDSlabs sell them together and standalone. However, I don't think many people would call the O2 portable. It doesn't have a rechargeable battery like the Fiio's and you would have to open the case through screws in order to swap out a 9V battery.

Please recommend me a DAC. ~200USD

Thank you guys for posting these recommendations.   Quote: I have looked at the Schiit Modi and the ODAC. People have reported that both sounded slightly flat, although the ODAC suffered that problem primarily due to low voltage provided by some USB slots. I suspect that for the amount of...

How to play FLAC on Android phones?

Sometimes the default music player will play it fine. The "Music" app on my LG works fine with flac. Doubletwist is free and plays them fine. Poweramp will also but it costs money.

Please recommend me a DAC. ~200USD

First off, I should apologize. Being impulsive is one of my many faults. I read the older review and saw that there was no USB input and assumed that the new version didn't contain any changes to the inputs. However reading the Zero dac thread, people complained a lot about random burn outs of...

Best way to put FLAC files on my iPod Touch?

I used an iPod touch before moving onto Android and what I did before was to use dbPoweramp music converter to convert flac files to alac. Frankly that was the only way I found. I know that you can use foobar to convert FLAC to mp3. At 320kbps, there isn't a massive loss in the quality.

Please recommend me a DAC. ~200USD

Thank you both for your recommendations.   Quote: The DAC looked really good but I saw that the price was 350 dollars and I couldn't find a page on the maker's website or any other place that sells it. I'll keep my eye out but it might outside my price range even if I find one.   I...

Hello all,       Long time lurker here and while I generally understand most of the things going on with headphone equipment, there are just too many options for me to wrap my head around. My friend has finished school and he is upgrading his audio equipment with his graduation/new job money...

    Xbox ONE

Hope no one minds if I jump into the conversation. I felt that MS knew that their market was for the younger crowd of video gamers, younger as in college students and earlier and the majority of how the Xbox is used for the younger generation is in sports or CoD. Looking at MLG participations...

[Review] Brainwavz HM5, A New Neutral Champ

Finally listened to these headphones. I like the audio quality and some details that the headphones reveal that I just don't get with the speakers. The problem that I have with these headphones is that they feel somewhat heavier than the HD555 that I tried before. Also, the isolation that the...
