So what is wrong with aliexpress, should i not buy from there?

It's not an issue with scenarios, it's an issue with the veterans who deemed it necessary to clean up the suggestion threads not actually reading and supporting the thread.  I don't blame them, I just mean to say that the only way a single suggestion thread can work is if people with insight...

FWIW I received my replacement ELE dac today, black as requested and the channels were correct.     I opened it up and it's also a much better soldering job.  There are a few pins on the chip that seem to have bridged joints on both of my units though, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be...

I personally didn't notice an improvement on burn-in with my s400's, but that is just me.  Still think they sound excellent, just didn't see a marked change after 50 hours of play time.

I have bought 12 Rean nickel connectors now, and while I like them at least 1/2 have connection issues (the slightest tweak will lose a channel, etc).  I'm thinking about getting a few Canare F12's for larger cable jobs, but 5 bucks each is hard to swallow.     On a separate note:  ...

Yeah I didn't touch the lettering, so you're dead on there.  I'm not sure if I want to try to repaint it, or maybe pull those rings, paint them white then paint the lettering black.
