Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements

Closed back HD58X?!?! This abomination must be destroyed!!! I'm totally kidding...but I'm curious.....with all the great closed-back options out there, what made you want to mod a HD58X to a closed back design. And if you don't mind, what is your experience with closed backs and how do your...

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements

So I've been listening to and thoroughly enjoying my HD58X's for the past year. Tonight I saw my Alessandro MS1's sitting on a shelf and thought "Oh yeah....I have those. They used to be my go-to rock/pop cans." So I thought I'd do an impromptu A/B of the two, which makes sense to me as they...

Yep...unless you're talking about a Sennheiser Orpheus....serial numbers are meaningless....these are Sub $200 headphones...buy them ... enjoy them and stop obsessing over shipping.

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements

I bought in for 2 reasons. 1st: I'm a huge fan of the HD580 I own 2 pairs and is one of only two full-sized headphones I own (not counting gaming headsets) and was delighted to see it get a revival of sorts in 2018. 2nd: Sennheiser putting effort into an affordable audiophile focused...

@cskippy That's good advice...but if I we're a betting man, I'd wager a fair bit that Sennheiser would not have made a replacement to one of their most successful audiophile headphones ever, unless it we're truly worthy.

@DavidA Why do I say your post makes no sense? Firstly, I stand by my earlier statement that nothing that fits in your pocket will drive Sennheiser HD6XX's like what I good desktop system will, and from what I've read and heard the Xonar Essence sound cards are an excellent headphone DAC/amp...

I'm not sure why you seem to think an external DAC is a requirement. Do you think the quality of the music from your phone is bad? As I mentioned earlier, even the cheapest DAC chips in our computers and phones do a very good job at converting bits to analog joy. Most of us couldn't reliably...

In second thought...the reviews on that dock are pretty iffy. It costs a bit more but is probably worth it to get the genuine Apple dock and recommended Mediabridge cable: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0019FMEO0/ref=psdc_13996491_t1_B0056IB3DY

DavidA's comment makes no sense to me. You like the HD650, and rightly so, it's spectacular, but nothing that fits in a shirt pocket is going to let you realize the great audio they are capable of. And you certainly don't need to go out and buy another FS headphone that will be equally...

I have no experience with the Fulla2, but per Schiit's website those cans are getting 40mW/channel RMS. That's fine for moderate to low volume levels but if you're like me and like to rattle the fillings in your teeth now and then, I expect the Fulla 2 would be a bit lacking.
