If you still love Etymotic ER4, this is the thread for you...
Long term ER4P (S cable) user here. I just discover this thread. I'm still in love with them. Some days they seem to sound less better, but maybe is me. Definitely they are not for early CD mastering recordigns. (Some 80's productions are really harsh, i.e, 'Dangerous'; that snare drum is...- countach

Burning-in Beyerdynamic DT770PRO 250Ω (cat freaks out with the white noise.)
Well, my brand new DT770 just arrived and before the burn-in, i've made an initial sound check paired with the Leckerton Audio UHA-3 (in HI GAIN mode). There was a lot of bass and nice (but rolled) highs. And a huge mid hole too. I hope some of that will be fixed in the burn.... Unbox...- countach

Er4p, are they still considered good?
I'm in the same boat. ER4P are simply wonderful. As I just wrote in another post, amped, they are transparent, liquid, deep-bassy, clean, sharp and gorgeous. I'm planning to upgrade to Apuresound Cable (or that piccolino thing webbie64 says) instead of going multi-driver. I hope the...- countach

SE420/530 v. er4p v. IE8
My ER4P have plenty of bass! Amped, they are transparent, liquid, deep-bassy, clean, sharp and gorgeous. Using the gray-bi flanges, I've tweaked the EQ a little bit using foobar2000: I like them so much, that I'm planning to upgrade to Apuresound Cable instead of go multi-driver.- countach

Shure olives, some questions
The Shure olives fit the ER4 well, but the green filter seems to be very close to the outside, exposing it to direct contact to earwax, ruining it if so. By the way, the sound in the Etys is not improved at all with this ones. For me, for example, the bass turns from a deep and perfect sound...- countach

Lightgray triflanges. (but each people's earcanal is different) The trick is not push them the harder the better. (This can lead to crush the hole in the flange, closing it) You have to get some kind of 'vacuum' by trying to release them a bit after insertion, looking for that vacuum...- countach

Review: Apuresound-recabled Etymotic ER4P (revised)
So, the idea (i've had) of buying from Apuresound its 75ohm adaptor and the ER4 cable for my ER4P is not very clever? (I mean: Buying only the cable is better?)- countach
