I also own a TAZ and a WM1A and can easily say the DMP is on a different level. The TAZ tends to be a more laid back warm sound with a huge soundstage. The DMP sounds razor sharp, much better separation, this crazy holographic imaging thing going on, all without being fatiguing somehow.

Compared to Z1R's and Empyreans, it's not really a fair comparison. They do kinda remind me of my Denon MM400's though. Not quite as clear but a bit punchier. I plan on keeping the APM. They sound fun to me and the best wireless I've heard so far compared to vmoda crossfade 2, qc35, XM3)...

I run it with the Taz and with the alcantara pads, the soundstage is huge and fun. Sometimes the music gets a bit too warm this way but the leather pads help change that up quickly :)
