Great review, they look beautiful!  As an owner of the D2000's, I've always wondered what these sound like.  They look gorgeous.

I've had some great success with a PAV2, which is within your price range.  Small, light, and very powerful for the price.

I second the suggestion about the HRT Streamer II.  For $150, I'd say it's nearly impossible to beat.  I've used it for some time and ended up upgrading to the Streamer II+ for a marginal improvement.

Perhaps you can use a high-quality power strip to isolate the noise?  A power conditioning unit may help as well.

I've recently auditioned several headphones and the HD598 was one of my favorites.  It has a smooth, detailed sound that works very well for rock.  I highly recommend it if you're looking for a sweet sounding, mid-range happy set of cans.

I'd also love to know how the K702's do with an Asgard (vs. other options).  The Schiit Asgard definitely seems to be a high quality, well put-together amp.  Has anyone experienced this combo?   Quote:
