AirPods Max
I don't want to sound like I'm **** on them though, because as a package I think they're quite a compelling product. They are better than all the ANC headphones I've tried on the market, both in terms of sound and build quality. The features and convenience aspects are icing on the cake...- controlmajortom

AirPods Max
You described exactly what I am hearing. I don’t think the average consumer will care if they’ve not heard better sounding headphones though. I got the APM to actually test against the ATH DSR9BT, which is my benchmark for wireless headphones for sound quality. I really wanted to like these...- controlmajortom

AirPods Max
I have all three and they don't sound similar to either. APM has a grainy quality to the treble that I associate with cheaper headphones. HD650 has better tonality but sounds duller/more rolled off. Not even going to bother comparing the APM treble with the HD800S.- controlmajortom

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
So after having one earphone fall out of my ears in the pouring rain and spending 10 minutes trying to find it (thank god it didn't break), I finally caved and bought comply tips for my Sennheiser Momentum True wireless. Best decision ever. They have completely changed the fit and the sound is...- controlmajortom

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
No, I agree. The absolute convenience of TW earbuds are the reason I keep coming back, but I eventually end up dropping each of the ones I've tried after awhile due to unacceptable sound quality. I was hoping the MTWs would buck that trend, but I don't think they have.- controlmajortom

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
Maybe, but it's hard to trust reviews due to differing expectations, audio preferences, and what other products people have listened to in the past. I got these due to the numerous individual and website reviews claiming them to have the best SQ among TW earbuds, and I've tried quite a few. They...- controlmajortom

I bought the MTW today. Certainly the best true wireless SQ I've heard, but doesn't really say much. For a $300 dollar product, I am quite disappointed. These sound like 70-80 dollar wired pairs with quite a lack of refinement across the entire spectrum. Perhaps my expectations were too high.- controlmajortom

custom iems are so overpriced yet so popular?
Spoken like someone who's never tried CIEMs. I joke, but seriously, there's a lot of advantages in terms of comfort and ergonomics when you get used to customs. Universals may be "universal", but many people have ears that don't work with certain shells, especially the weird shaped ones as... -

Tis true, but I still don't find soundstage a strength of the M100.- controlmajortom

I would think people from Headfonia would understand what a large soundstage is though.- controlmajortom

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
I'm not a basshead, but it doesn't mean I'm not entitled to my own opinion. I also own a pair of XB500s, and while not as refined as the M100s, I feel like it represents better value. I enjoy the XB500s about as much as I enjoy the M100s with EDM (just about the only genre I like the M100s...- controlmajortom

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
I don't know what I was expecting but these were really underwhelming (bad, even). I quite liked the M80s but these are definitely not for me. Everything I've read about this headphone puts the bass and soundstage at the top of what they do best. However, the bass is far too sloppy. It messes...- controlmajortom

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
I have not heard a single IEM, custom or not, that can compare with a good fullsize open headphone of a comparable quality. Resolution and detail may be comparable, but soundstage and presentation can't be matched. IEMs are at an inherant disadvantage.- controlmajortom
