I won't be. Still it wouldd be very interesting to see how the EVO are tuned in the bass compared to IEMs such as the ORIVETI O400, Shure SE846, Earsonics ES3, Etymotic ER2XR, Moondrop Starfield and Massdrop Plus (and also to see how similar their midrange and treble tuning is compared to the...

In my opinion, that's not too surprising since insertion depth is, in my experience and opinion, probably the biggest factor to how loud one hears that transmitted noise, and since Etymotic in-ears are supposed to be inserted deeper than pretty much most other in-ears, they transmit quite a lot...

Etymotic - Discussion & Impressions (index in 1st post)

This would only happen with an insufficient seal (which is likely the case based on what you describe). While I haven't measured them with the new dual-flange tips (all of the ER IEMs that I have on hand were purchased or sent to me before the dual-flange tips were introduced and included as...

ORIVETI O400 Source: Review sample. Miscellaneous: ORIVETI’s second BA-only in-ears. Very nice unboxing experience (except for that the cardboard box was somewhat difficult to open); nicely arranged accessories and a wide range of different ear tip styles (various single-flange silicone...

I don't have the OH500 and never heard them.

Etymotic - Discussion & Impressions (index in 1st post)

In my opinion, it's more about which tuning you tend to prefer, as the technical qualities of both are quite comparable/not too far apart (the ER3XR really only show their mild superiority when pushed near the limits with very fast, complex and/or densely arranged music).

    Oriveti O400

My review's generally taking longer to finish than expected and than usual, but that's mainly because of how much I also personally like the O400 (which was quite clear given that I already knew the frequency response thanks to the Korean Ear-Fi Blog site, but I didn't expect them to perform...

Different people, different perception of the lows and different levels and speed of adaption to the lack of physical vibrations felt through the entire body when listening to headphones. It's a fact that when listening to to speakers in a room, one doesn't only hear the lows but also feel the...

Based on the photos, those Limum BAX cables don't look robust to me either (I've never seen any of those cables in reality, though), however https://linum.dk/discover/technology/ (and numerous user feedback since those cables have been around for a while) indicates that they are - and after all...

For "serious" CD listening, my ER-4S and the ER4SR as well as on occasions the ER2SE are clearly my way to go (sometimes also my InEar ProPhile 8 or Ultimate Ears Reference Monitors, but the ER-4S and ER4SR get more ear time). But for recreational non-CD, "random" music listening, a bass boost...

If you're referring to this, then yes. More info is in this thread's 2nd post.

Thanks for your reply. Too bad - given Etymotic's approach to perfection (except for minor things such as the newer ER series' lack of clearly distinguishable side indicators and the lack of a chin-slider on the older and discontinued ER-4S' cable) and professional audio orientation, I would...

Sennheiser IE 80 and IE 800 cases as well. @EtyDave @Zachik Is the carrying case's lid threaded or snap-on (I cannot clearly tell by the photos)? If the latter were the case, then I'd say that a threaded lid (plus simple rubber gasket) would've ultimately been more ideal in the long term...

I don't know who's making the Ety foam tips, but my favourite in-ear hearing protection are the 3M 1100 as well as Howard Leigh MAX when it comes to maximum isolation. The Shure Olive foam tips are also super comfortable, easy to insert and isolate very well, hence I once modified them to...
