Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

I used the Cayin + Fiio mix to drive my DT 770s, which was a really good set up. The Fiio could just about drive the 770s (better, in terms of power, than the LGv30), but the Cayin added something special. The 770s have great low bass, but the mid-bass drops off a bit - indeed, much drops off...

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

Well here it is! I knew it would add bass, and it sure does. Interestingly, with the stock pads, extra bass via the Cayin C5 overwhelmed the 1770s. But these pads manage to contain it, which is fascinating. My surprise is that the mids sound more natural with the Dekoni sheepskin pads. The highs...

Music Apps, Tips and Tricks for the LG V30

And what about this 64 bit processing? Turn it on or not? I'm clueless!

Music Apps, Tips and Tricks for the LG V30

Hey all, in Neutron, should "dither" be applied? I have no idea what it does or if it is good for my music files (which include a range of types, some high res)

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

@RockStar2005 - I quite like the higher treble emphasis on the 770s and wondered if you would recommend either the Hybrid or Sheepskin to generate that effect? (though not too much!)

Beyerdynamic DT-1770: Product Info, Discussion and Impressions

Be interested to hear if people have experience of the Dekoni hybrids AND sheepskin pads for the 1770s. Planing to pull the trigger on one, but not both, sets. I think it was @RockStar2005 who preferred the sheepskin, while Joshua Valour (Youtube video creator) spoke highly of the hybrid. Any...

Reply to review by 'Chris1975' on item 'iFi Audio xCAN'

Incredible review, thanks so much. Had a question, as I'm a bit confused by the distinction between S-Balanced and Balanced in the bit about the XCan's Output Power: will these be enough to drive my DT 770s on the go (from either a Fiio X3II source or Bluetooth iPhone)? My Cayin C5 amp manages...

What a great review! When you say it compliments to Mojo, do you mean down the line, i.e. as a final stage between the Mojo and headphones? Again, loved your review, thanks. V tempted by this!

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

I spoke to BeyerDynamic about such cables, by the way, and I was told that having been tried, they don't make any serious difference and are a bit of a con (not the man's exact words, but the gist)

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

Thanks for your helpful response. To clarify, I auditioned actual HD650s (not the 6XXs) to make my comparison. Also, the HD6XXs are the 650s (with, I believe, some minor adjustments that I am told don't affect the sound) As for detail, though I understand how you read me the way you did, I...

    Stax SR-L300 Impressions Thread

Are these really as good as the hype? I'm close to purchasing some DT 1990s which I auditioned and loved, but ..... Actually, I don't even know why I am asking. It's not like I can afford a pair of Stax! Feel free to lie.

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

This is really helpful, thanks. I really enjoyed the sound of the 1990s when I auditioned them last week. I plan to head over to Heilbron this summer, visit their home shop. I'll try the 1770s when I'm there.
