Introducing the Audeze MM-500!
I agree these are a very solid Audeze offering. I’m mostly using them mix-wise in the studio, But find them an enjoyable listen generally. I prefer not to EQ if possible but do find that for my taste they benefit from a few DB boost broad Q around 60-80 and, a slight boost round 8K as well. A...- chris.d.m.

LCD-X and XC Update
Which pads are we referring to here?? This graph is "very different" from the graph of my new 2021 X's with NL pads.- chris.d.m.

LCD-X and XC Update
Is it a fairly solid deduction /shared belief to say that the 2021 Subs are a tad lacking compared to the previous X's ? I realize it's very subjective but I've been wondering about this and curious if my non-leather pads might affect my perceived less subs compared to my older X's w/ leather...- chris.d.m.

LCD-X and XC Update
Very curious. I got the pleather based on someone suggesting they felt the bass was a tad better, and top a tad smother with them. I'm not so sure though as I detect a slightly leaner sub 100hz with my 2021 X's compared, to what I remember from my roughly 2016/17 X's. Hmmm.- chris.d.m.

Personal BEST DAC-AMP & DONGLES discoveries thread (Best finds Reference List)
Some good / helpful thoughts here. Still hunting for $100-200 portable dac/amp for the LCD X's that won't bring "too much" of a compromise. Of course if could afford an idsd micro, I'd bet that would rock.- chris.d.m.

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
Intersting. Curious if you've heard the newer version of the LCD X? & think they could still be described as dark & warm. I'll get a pair soon to check out but my guess is they're still somewhat warm, but a bit less dark. As well if you have the pali pads on your Sundara's that you seem to...- chris.d.m.

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
Thanks, that sounds like the best option, Re; the other comments, much appreciated. I still have the 2018 Sundara here ...But will be getting the newer LCD X's soon. Which is why I was thinking if all goes well with the X's & I keep them (which are clearly a darker or softer signature)...- chris.d.m.

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)
I have the 2018 Sundara's and have honestly barely used them as their bass is to me, less than desirable. They also sound a bit distant, Albeit they have a very clear top end. I have not read through this thread in a long time but...Can anyone kindly fill me in on IF there is an upgrade path...- chris.d.m.

LCD-X and XC Update
Sounds promising an the Sundara's are also my other pair here, as well as Oppo's. I should get the X's in a few weeks. All things considered with loving the previous X's engaging bass, hoping there's not too much of a compromise made in the new ones to achieve the improved balance / voicing...- chris.d.m.

LCD-X and XC Update
It's good to read your impressions. Hoping to get the LCD X as well as the LCD 1 in here to check out. Just not sure if there's much sense in having the 1's if I went for the X's. Other than the 1's being much more travel friendly of course. I used to love the old X's bottom end. Albeit...- chris.d.m.

LCD-X and XC Update
Good points. In my case, I sold the X's a few years back. So I'm mostly just wrestling with whether I want to get another pair in here to try. Not a biggie as I could just return if need be but, if there's still a dip up there and I'd rather not be bothered with eq-ing, it gives me some...- chris.d.m.

LCD-X and XC Update
Thanks, appreciate your thoughts. In my case eq-ing during the mix stage is just not a desirable step to go through. I can't in all situations reproduce the correction w/o a hassle. Hmmm.- chris.d.m.

LCD-X and XC Update
So speaking as a studio mixer that loved the depth of the LCD X but, couldn't live with the 4k-ish recession for critical listening / mix decisions... Are these new X versions appreciably better in that regard? Are there any strong impressions / reviews at this time that imply they truly...- chris.d.m.
