    DAC recommendations

How about a nice AD/DA like the Lavry Blue? If done properly, vinyl rips are in a different league compared to CD rips.

    cMP and cPlay media player

Sure, I don't want to spend that kind of money on a DAC either, so let's take the Scarlatti DAC out of the equation (or rather, inequality). Cics' Computer Transport + Scarlatti DAC > Scarlatti SACD/CDP + Master Clock + DAC becomes Cics' Computer Transport > Scarlatti SACD/CDP + Master...

    cMP and cPlay media player

Cics, the author of cMP+cPlay, favors the computer transport + dCS Scarlatti DAC combo over his Scarlatti SACD/CD playback system (SACD/CDP + DAC + Master Clock). Just FYI.

I don't want to be unfriendly, but where are your ears? How about you listen for yourself before jumping to conclusions?

    Which Sound Card?

Of course you would need something between the 02US and the speakers - cable The 02US should be fine for gaming/movies if you plan on using a 2-channel setup.

To ALL those who have a PC, strictly for AUDIO

I own a gaming/HTPC, a laptop for work, and a dedicated audio PC. The gaming/HTPC is the most "advanced" in pure computer terms, with Q9550, 4G RAM, GTX280, 800W PS, and huge hard drives. My audio PC, on the other hand, follows cics' guide almost to the letter (with additional advanced mods)...

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you! :D

I second what ROBSCIX said... "sorry about your wallet", and I have no doubt it'll suffer even more in the future. Then again, if money can buy you happiness, it is money well spent :P

    Which Sound Card?

The DX is a very good card for those who use their PC as a multipurpose machine. I have a DX on my gaming/HT PC, and it performs admirably for its price. However, the 01US (recently found its place in my girlfriend's living room) is better for pure music playback.

e-mu 1212m VS Asus Xonar STX (DAC only)

I favor the analog outs of the Xonar Essence over the stock 1212m. However, I feel that the Peter Daniel's NOS USB DAC is alot more musical and balanced than both.
