++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
Quote: I had no problems returning a pair of v-moda m80's about a month ago. Took about three days to get my refund (two of which were shipping). Did you buy through a third party on amazon? If that's the case you might have to see what that individual seller's policy is.- chachokat

Grado modders go Magnum
Quote: Sorry to hear that. I'll be getting my cups back from him any day now, and have nothing but good things to say about my experience. Very prompt about returning emails, and he even saved $15 on shipping for my magnums (he was ordering some from Rhydon at the same time , so...- chachokat

Symphones Magnum upgrade for Grado SR325 and Alessandro MS2
First, I want to thank you (thelostMidrange) for your contributions. I'm definately fascinated by your findings. It never would have occured to me that the finish on the wood would contribute so much to the sound, and I definately look forward to further insights. I was also wondering...- chachokat

Help on my first headphones!!!
I really like the creative aurvana live. amazon sells them for $55-60 frequently (they're currently 100). Unfortunately, I haven't heard any of the other ones on your list so I can't compare, but I really enjoy them for rock, and they have a decent amount of bass, and might go well with your...- chachokat

Grado Fan Club!
Just to double check, (thelostMidrange), you prefer honduran mahogany over other types, correct? I believe this is what Ohrenholz uses- chachokat

ATH-M50 vs. Beyerdynamic DT 770? The battle of the budget basshead cans.
Quote: jr.com often sells it for less than 250. You have to call in and see what their "best offer" currently is. It might depend on the customer service rep, but they offered it to me for 200 (this was around black friday and they were back ordered though).- chachokat

Best Cans for <50$
I also suggest the Creative Aurvana Live. They regularly go on sale at amazon for $55. I'm not sure how they compare co the Crossfade LP, but I's say they have a decent amount of bass.- chachokat

advice needed on semi-open / open back cans for medium quiet environment
While I can't really speak about the others, I don't think the Grados are conducive to quiet environments. They leak in too much ( for me at least) and leak out way too much. One post that I read (don't remember where) described them as mini speakers, and I agree with that description. From...- chachokat

Stop me from buying m-80s -Looking for other options
When I auditioned them, I preferred the Hd-25's much more. They just had a very "fun" sound that I enjoyed. Ultimately I decided to return them as I felt the mids were a little too recessed for me. Definetely check out the link that kagelou posted. The pros/cons that are listed for each...- chachokat

Need help choosing new headphones.
I don't think you'll be unhappy. I did enjoy the hd-25's very much and found them to have a "fun" sound. My main probelem was that the mids seemed a little bit recessed for me which for my musical tastes was a deal breaker Again, it might be that I'm just too used to the Grado sound.- chachokat
