    HiFiMan Susvara

I believe the MSRP is now $6500.00...although I wouldn't swear to it. Mine is 12 years old and still sounds fantastic. If you're patient, you can find them used in mint condition for around $3k.

    HiFiMan Susvara

A friend of mine came over for a day of listening, and brought his headphones...among them his Susvara's. He was completely blown away how good they sounded from the speaker taps of my Vacuum Tube Logic IT-85 integrated amp as opposed to his Bakoon. So much so, that he went out the very next day...

Feedback by 'cAsE sEnSiTiVe' on listing 'RAAL-requisite HSA-1b'

It was a pleasure to do business with Ian. Helpful and prompt communication, and the Raal HSA-1b arrived quickly and safely. Would happily buy from him anytime. Bob

    Audeze CRBN Interview, Review, Measurements

It's a high pass filter with an 18db per octave slope for bass excursion protection.

No need to wait for that. Bob laid it all out in his review. Two minutes with the parametric EQ in Roon and you're there. At least you can see right away if his settings are to your liking.

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

I'm not sure. I'm guessing it was homemade. It was posted in one of the "show off your rig" threads here....and I saved the photo. I would think it would be simple to make....find some nice shelving of your choice, and cut the support blocks to length depending on your height requirements...

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

I always thought this was a really clean looking setup for a desktop rig.

    RAAL-requisite CA-1a Circum-Aural Ribbon Headphone is here! @HeadAmp

I guess it all depends what ones definition of "excel" is. I've heard no headphones anywhere near the $1k mark that are able to convey without a leap of faith (given a recording capable of showing such things), real instruments being played in a real 3 dimensional space. Now maybe that's not a...

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

An output tube run in Triode operation is run less efficiently, and as a result puts out less overall power output, typically around half the output as opposed to running the tube flat out.

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

The resistor interface box has the open-baffle compensation needed for the SR1a built into it. The CA1a doesn't need such compensation, so I'd wager the low end response would be overly "ripe" if using it with it.

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

I start with Mitch's 'Neutral' convolution filter in Roon, and then use very subtle EQ'ing in a few key areas to top things off. The result is playback that gives realistic weight and tonality to instruments of all types, and a very distinct 'you-are-there' experience that doesn't require a leap...

    RAAL-requisite SR1a Clipping Issues

One thing I might add here. Judging by your pictures, you have the wings of the Raal's splayed out pretty far....I'd say like 60 degrees from what I'm seeing. Maybe you're using more volume to compensate? Although it's ultimately up to the end user, 30 degrees seems to be about the sweet spot...

    RAAL-requisite SR1a Clipping Issues

Just my experience....I run the SR1a's on the rig in my signature, and listen to a LOT of very well-recorded classical music, and have never heard them clip once. Had the HSA-1b here for a time, and couldn't get them to clip on that amp either. The only amplifier that showed strain on loud...

    Raal Ribbon Headphones - SRH1A

It could be that the amp yyzSB is referring to is the forthcoming VM-1a....which is a dedicated direct-drive tube amp.
