Ground loop even if connected to the same power outlet
I have a ground loop problem I'm having a hard time getting rid of. I'm almost certain it's a ground loop as I can get rid of it by lifting the ground on my Dacmagic 100. Since my Gungnir doesn't have this option, I'm trying to find a more permanent solution. What I dont understand though, is...- Carcajou

Magni/Modi/HD-650 next upgrade?
They indeed sound very good, but the creaking noises it makes were a dealbreaker for me. They're very different from the HD650 also, so I guess it depends if OP wants to keep a similar sound profile or prefers to experiment with something else...- Carcajou

Magni/Modi/HD-650 next upgrade?
I own a pair of HD650, which I drive balanced from a Mjolnir 2/Gungnir stack (so power is definitely not an issue) and I have recently upgraded to the LCD-2, and I can tell you that the improvement is very noticeable. Bass is deeper, punchier and more controlled + you get that planar transient...- Carcajou

Advice needed on replacement headphone purchase
I hear a lot of rumors about a price decrease on the Elear in the near future... But yeah, the HD600 is such a great piece of equipment that there are very few options under the $1000 price point that are worth it (the exception being maybe the Aeon, but again I haven't had the chance to hear them).- Carcajou

Advice needed on replacement headphone purchase
Hi Chrispyduck, They're such different headphones, it's difficult to find something that'll give you the best of both. I guess the point they have in common is how detailed both headphones are. If you like the Grado's "in-your-face" presentation but want something that can accommodate more...- Carcajou

Best AMP for K7XXs
The thing with music and sound in general is that its interpretation is relative to the listener's perception. We aren't computers programmed to analyse sound in terms of 1 and 0. Our ears are made differently and our emotions intervene in the way we perceive things. He's not wrong, he just has...- Carcajou

Bottom As I said, it'll depend a lot on the tube you use. I'm not sure Z rolled the tube so if he just used the default one it might explain the lack of warmth.- Carcajou

Never gonna happen, Schiit's business model is to sell every single unit at the same price. There are never drops on Schiit products- Carcajou

Best AMP for K7XXs
He's right on one thing, there's only so much voltage you can have go through a single tube so the "tubiness" is limited by that fact, but as chef said, it's still a great entry-level amp into the world of tubes.- Carcajou

Best AMP for K7XXs
It's $450 though... But yeah, it's an amazing amp. I'm not a fan of the LISST (they're good, but the Lyr and the Mjolnir sound soooo much better with tubes) so IMO you could just skip it for now and put the money on a better pair of tubes.- Carcajou

The Lyr 2 has stellar reviews, the Little dot 1+ should theoretically be more tubey although I haven't tried it.- Carcajou

I know Woo audio has a bunch, they're just completely in another price league. The thing is that adding an output transformer to a full tube amp is expensive...- Carcajou

It will work with 32 Ohms headphones, It just won't be as enjoyable as it would be with higher impedance headphones. It's not because an amp is rated at a given impedance that it'll sound good.- Carcajou
