New ATH-PRO700mk2 - Audio Technica
Never used the hd25-ii, but I have used my friend's grado's once... I can't quite remember the specifics though so hard to compare. With regard to clamping, after a couple of weeks, they loosen (you can put them on a stack of books if you dont want to clamp your head.- calcifer

New ATH-PRO700mk2 - Audio Technica
M50s are more comfortable due to their ovular shape; for me they are fully circumaural. Pro700mk2, while larger in diameter, are barely circumaural as the padding does not extend much past the driver (whereas in the M50, the padding extends slightly in the axis of the headband). This, combined...- calcifer

Also from Ontario. I ordered from adorama. Time is probably my favourite track on that OST... I listen to alot of OST and I would have to say that while the sound is more forward in the mk2 and recessed in the m50, it won't ever sound as good as it does on my ESW9. yushhhh Mine came in today. :D. CURSE YOU CUSTOMS!!! frking brokerage fees... Clamping pressure sucks! :( ...Good thing I don't have a boxy-shaped head. Not liking the lack of metal band ... but it feels like a durable polymer... maybe the inside is reinforced by metal... unsure.... ...- calcifer

Fricking Adorama. On backorder :( :(. Probably a week from now I'll have em. In the mean time, any japanese head-fi-ers out there? http://review.kakaku.com/review/K0000157598/ or anyone who can translate more coherently than google? xD- calcifer

ATH-PRO700MK2 vs ATH m50s
… The M50s already sound better than the QC2s imo... whole line of bose headphones give a very—for lack of a better word—"fake" sound. I would take the M50s over QC2s hands down any day.- calcifer

Don't get WS70s... you'll regret it. Great bass... but at a great cost of soundstage. Getting my pair of MK2s from Adorama for ~$150... so excite! =D- calcifer

Sony XB1000 or the Audio-Technica ATH-WS70?
I don't know about the Sony's but the WS70s are worse after burn-in, and are terrible for soundtrack/classical/jazz/acoustic genres. ATH-M50s are much better than the WS70s. On the plus side, they do look very nice and sound great for alternative/rock/electronica/etc genres albeit the limited...- calcifer
