I did get mine from Tam Audio via Amazon and it does have the vents. I works very well with the AKG701s although I will have to say not so well with the Sennheisers. Apparently its all about impedance. I am very satisfied with my purchase.  

I bought mine on Amazon and am loving it with my AKG701's and my Sennheisers. Made all the difference in the world!   

Thanks for this, Chris. Now here's a dumb question. Is it possible to use an amp like this with a software program of some sort that would give a graphic equalizer interface to adjust sound if needed. I am playing the sound back from WAV files.  

I currently have MOTU Microbook. I also have 2 sets of headphones, AKG701 and Sennheiser PXC 450. I tend to use the Sennheiser when there is noise in my area. I am listening to what is often badly recorded speech. I am looking for clarity and sound as close to the original as possibly, although...
