    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Pick a spot in the music file. Call that A. Pick another later spot in the file. Call that B. Play from spot A to spot B, repeatedly until stopped. About the only time I've ever used something like that is when trying to determine what the lyrics were. And that was pretty much before the...

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player

The short answer is to keep the output power the same. Quick and dirty sorta scientific explanation… A general rule of thumb is that every 3db increase doubles the amount of power required. Actually the power needed is a function of frequency where the lower the frequency being boosted the...

    The discovery thread!

I ordered a pair of these in purple for the reduced price and added a simple $10 TRN 2.5 balanced cable and KZ spiral eartips. They're on my cheap $20 RUIZU player for the next week to burn in. Can't wait to give them a listen along with all of the other IEMs I've blown cash on over the last...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

+1 for EAC. I usually use my PowerBook for most things but really like how well EAC works. Follow the instructions on setting it up for flac including the link to the better choice of command line arguments to pass along to the flac encoder.

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player

I'm guessing that the max capacity listed for any given player is a function of when it was released and when the specs were written. Many dirt cheap players say 32G limit but that's because bigger cards are typically formatted in something other than FAT32. I've successfully formatted up to...

The balanced output, the 2.5mm ttrs jack, really helps tighten up the bass compared to the standard 3.5mm jack. More noticeable with harder to drive IEMs or actual headphones. The extra power available makes a difference. For mobile usage versus sitting in one place there's not too much of a...

    Obscure Chinese DAPs

I was reasonably happy with my Hidizs AP80 until I received the AP80 Pro which I enjoy more. But the non Pro version is a nice little player. If you want very inexpensive but still with Bluetooth and a metal case that resists pretty much anything you can do to it except drown it in Mountain Dew...

    Obscure Chinese DAPs

Actually the other way around. AGPTEK rebranded the Benjie. Regardless the pictures on the wiki are from a different version, with rounded edges. Mine is an earlier model with square edges. In fact initial reviews complain about the sharpness of the edges. But its been a tiny workhorse for me...

I'm looking to replace my Benjie T6 (I spilled on it and drowned the poor thing 😭) and I can't get thread searching to work. Are there any choices around $50? Alternatively how do I get the back cover off so I can see what damage I've done?

AP80 - Hidizs next portable Hi-Res music player

I'm not sure if I'm missing something or that this is a promised feature that never materialized... I am unable to connect my AP80 Pro to my car via Bluetooth... The car scans and can see my phone but doesn't show the AP80 Pro... Other than simply turning on the Bluetooth on the Hidizs what...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

Has anyone else gotten the FEN-2000 lately and can confirm this? I spent some time yesterday comparing the TRN V20 with the Yersen FEN-2000 and really prefer the FEN-2000. Enough that I was planning on getting a 2nd pair. Granted its under $25 with shipping but I'd hate to end up with bad IEMs...
