Sure. Use whatever gain you like. In the end it doesn't really matter.

I use low gain on my magni 3+ with my 6XX, it's enough volume for me with still good headroom. Low gain will typically will have lower distortion numbers, so if the volume is loud enough for you I'd stick with low gain.

CharlesC - I know the uDAC-2 isn't the best headphone amp/dac, but I also really enjoy mine (only problems I've had are clicks and pops but that's probably not my the dac)

Just get the DG. And imo I'd go with AD700s if you are going to watch a lot of movies and do a lot of gaming. They might have weak bass, but it is still there and you get used to it. Worst case scenario, you can't stand the ad700s and you have to send them back, but I doubt that will happen...
