Thinking of an iPod Touch 2G, how does the SQ compare to a 5G iPod or a Zen Touch?

Just from a short listening in the Apple Store with my KSC75s, I can vouch that the 2g Touch sounds much better than my 3g Nano, which I believe has a similar, if not the same, DAC as a 5g. I definitely plan to pick one up after Xmas. Also, SierraHotel, thanks for the info on EQing - I'll try...

Pictures of Your Portable Rig [Part XIII]

Remember these? I probably have some of the most outdated equipment in this thread, and I'm still ampless! After 3 years on HF. Transportable: iRiver H140 > Goldring DR150 Portable: iPod Nano 3G > KSC75

    Odd Electronica Request

Since you like Ratatat, you may want to check out Minotaur Shock. I recall listening to them a year or two ago and being reminded of Ratatat. You may like The Field based on some of the examples you cited. For something different, check out Fridge (specifically the LP Happiness) or Flashbulb.

    Best Exercise headphones?

Usually iBuds are fine for me in the gym, but occasionally I take backband phones like my Senn PMX60s (aka Creative HQ-140). They don't sound great, but they're light, durable, and they'll stay put on your head.

    2.5" HDD Help

Hi guys, The hard drive on my spouse's 4 year old laptop (a Dell Latitude D800) just died. I want to replace it, but I'm pretty confused about which data interface to get. The laptop specs say it will accept "EIDE/ATA100". I'm assuming that any SATA drive would not be compatible...

    Help identifying/finding earplugs

Hi, Several years ago I recall seeing a special type of earplug on Shure's website. It wasn't an IEM, earbud, or headphones in any way (mods: I apologize if this thread is in the wrong forum; please feel free to move it). They were tiny earplugs with some type of filter that didn't block...

    Official Goldring DR150 Impressions Thread

Great, excellent pair of cans for the money, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they require an amp to enjoy. Yesterday, after weeks of listening to the DR150 unamped, I plugged in my KSC75. Well, wow. The KSC75 blew the DR150 away. So I figured, hmm, there's no justice here...

    Am I being scammed?

Hey folks, your opinions are appreciated here. Ten days ago, I decided to sell my UE Super.fi 5pro. Unfortunately, I chose eBay. Everything was going fine - winner paid, I was able to ship the item the next day. I examined them and verified that they were in perfect cosmetic and working...

What Music Makes Your Cans "Disappear"?

This happens occasionally to me, though my setup is very mid-fi. Two tracks that come immediately to mind are "Lay Low" by My Morning Jacket and "Cut Up Piano & Xylophone" by Fridge.

A reintroduction to the Grado Sound

Is it worth it? I used to own a pair of SR60s. Loved them, but they seemed to be lacking something my Senn HD497 had... I can't easily put my finger on what, but I do recall the Senns sounding a lot smoother and less fatiguing in the high end. I eventually sold my SR60s. This was over a year...
