I was doing research prior to purchasing LCD2, shot Audeze an email asking about fazor and how they affect the sound (particularly the bass) this is the response I received.   

Would it make sense to purchase an older Matrix mini i 24/192 unit with red LED panel? If yes, how much should I spend? How much of a difference is it between newer unit?   Would a newer unit be adequate for HE-400, HD650, & TH-X00?

What's a good Dac / Amp combo for HD650 & TH-X00? Would Asgard 2 & Modi 2 get the job done?

What kind of dac/amp should I get for these for ~$350 or less? My other headphone is HD650.

So I've realized that I'm rather treble sensitive. For about 60-75% of my music (mainly indie, electronica, pop, and hip-hop) this is the only way I seem to be able to enjoy my HE-400s.      No longer using Jergpads - found them to make my ears too hot, back to velours.

  Yeah... But when I bought it on Amazon it was $12.   If you have a large head like mine, the headband will not fit unless you cut off the bumps. Without the middle 4 bumps, with the headband these headphones are a perfect fit. If I wee to add anything else to the padding, the earcups won't...
