I felt the same about the Allo Digione acrylic case - I ended up getting a HighPi Pro case with universal port and modifying the opening to fit the connectors.

My Modi Multibit does this on coax and optical every once in a while. My solution is to plug it into an APC power strip so it powers on when I switch on my Freya S, which is plugged into the master outlet.

I recommend the bigger hole - it makes it so much easier to plug 6SN7 and 7N7 adapters straight into the socket. I did mine with a dremel tool and a lot of patience.

I had to turn off/turn on my Modi Multibit last night - it had the left channel high pitch buzzing symptom, which I only figured out when l was listening with headphones. I had noticed it previously with speakers, but at the time forgot that sometimes this DAC gets confused and needs a reset...

I guess I'm in the minority, as I still listen to the radio occasionally at home. Mainly for public radio and local football play-by-play instead of the TV announcers. Side note - I've wondered if Schiit ever considered doing an HD Radio tuner - there aren't a lot of options out there for such...

I'll continue using Modi Multibit until the Yggdrasil or Gungnir get remote control and Autonomy. Sounds like they have higher priorities to work on than upgrading their high-end DACs.

I went with the Allo Digione Player in the acrylic case for a no tinkering RPi experience. It came with Volumio, which was okay, but recently I switched to MoodeAudio software and I like it much better.

Ha, someone else beat me to that frakentube - too slow on my part. :) In other news, I can confirm that the ebay xulingmrs 7N7 to ECC88 6922 6CG7 adapter works just fine in the Vali 2, though a socket saver is required unless you have enlarged the hole in the metal cover as I have done.

Could the power supply be located on the bottom of the stack, or does it run too hot?

Added a fat volume knob some time ago and recently moved Vali 2 to my Mac Mini with a Modi Optical. The preamp output is going straight into passive computer speakers with an RCA to 3.5mm adapter. Someday I'll get around to adding an amp and speakers. Love having the big volume knob - so much...
