If you can get a good price on a KGSSHV Carbon or even a regular KGSSHV, go for it and don't look back. I've tried quite a large range of Stax amps in a local store and the KGSSHV smokes them all.

I've always preferred Spotify's UI and music recommendations but I signed up for Tidal as well primary because of lossless playback. If Spotify does offer lossless in future, I would cancel Tidal in a heartbeat.

If you're tempted to get a DAC and avoid using the soundcard, instead of the Valhalla, you could also opt for the Magni/Modi stack. It doesn't cost a lot and it's a great entry level setup.
