Cowan D2 or S9
I find that the D2 has a slightly smoother finish with just a hint of raspberry and vanilla. The S9 is a bit more full bodied with an oaky and pecan gesture followed by just the slightest insinuation of citrus and currants.- BigEat

Ipod Touch 2g is very very impressive!
I just got the Cowon S9 and the I still think the iPod Touch is ahead. I would say the mids on the Cowon are better and slightly more forward, but the Touch is warmer and more even across the spectrum. I was so irritated with the skipping in Lossless I ordered just about every other highly...- BigEat

Ipod Touch 2g is very very impressive!
I'm pretty particular and own the cowon d2, cowon O2, and most other highly touted cowon machines. I also own two iMods and use them with the ALO V-Cap dock. While not quite the SQ of the iMod, I think the iPod Touch 2G is a very worthy competitor on all fronts. Now, that they fixed the skipping...- BigEat

Ultimate Ear Custom support - HORRIBLE
I have two pairs of UE-11s. I sent in my molds and had a pretty good experience getting the first pair. I wanted a back-up and it was virtually impossible to get anyone's help to sell me any. You'd think they would be eager to at least make the sale. I've had no problems, but even on the front...- BigEat

Compare and Contrast - Apogee Duet and RS Predator
Which of the following would you be more inclined to use and why? 1. Apogee Duet connected to MacBook Pro using the standard analog output of the Apogee into a SR-71A (outputs are ALO RCA to mini interconnects); or 2. RS Predator connected to Macbook Pro using the standard USB output...- BigEat

Best Choice of Closed Cans - $250 or less
I'd say the Denons are hard to beat. If you could extend the budget enough to get the 5000s now that they are being reduced, you will be very pleased you stretched it a bit.- BigEat

Great use of the word "sibilant". You rarely see that word in conversation or print. Oh, and great review.- BigEat

Shure SE 530 or UE 10
I have the UE-10 and UE-11 and have had two pair of SE530. I like the UE-10 and even more the UE-11. Once they settle in, and you get use to the warm sound. Very very nice.- BigEat

Anyone with Experience with Sony PCM D1 or D50
How are these as players? The optical out flexibility is enticing. Looks like they limited to WAV files. Lots of flexibility there and if 24/96 is available, really a high quality option. No? Thanks all.- BigEat
