Multi-Portable Amp Thread: 16 amps reviewed (Leckerton UHA-6S MKII added)
I have read hiss could be a problem with the Cruise. Do you think that might be a problem with the 650's or is it only with specific headphones.- bgmyers

Have HD-650 will travel.
I am looking for an amp that will drive my 650's on the road with my iPad and Zen PMP. I have been reading reviews on several amps, but would prefer advice and suggestions from experienced users. Battery life is important. Thank you- bgmyers

Multi-Portable Amp Thread: 16 amps reviewed (Leckerton UHA-6S MKII added)
I am looking for a travel amp to use with my HD-650's, iPad and Zen PMP. Battery life is important. I noticed the Cruise calls for the source headphone jack as the input. I thought an iPad 30 pin was preferred. I have been lookng mainly at the E11 and the Cruise. Now I see more options. Please...- bgmyers

I only keep one pair out at a time and cover them when not in use. For prolonged idle periods, they reside in their box. BTW ... using a...- bgmyers

Couldn't wait for the BHSE. Picked up a nearly new maxed black WES to use with my 007 Mk II cans. The opportunity and price was too good to pass up.- bgmyers

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
My whole system is BAT tube. The mono locks are tube and get really hot. The preamp and cd are tubes in a cabinet which do not get as hot. Exposed tubes should have at least 6". My mono blocks are on the bottom shelves with fans pulling the air off them. My BHSE will go on a top shelf. I will...- bgmyers

Most fans are bi-directoional. Depends on how you mount them. It is best to suck the heat from the tubes. Blowing air over them can cause fractures.- bgmyers

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
I use a thermostat with a probe that turns the fans on when a preset temp is reached and turns off at a lower temp. $100 for two dual fans on a plate and a shared thermostat. Silent running high speed. You can't hear them.- bgmyers

I agree with Justin. I have barely 6" with my mono block amps (tubed) and have fans to move he heat. Cats and fans don't mix.- bgmyers
