Better source, DAC or headphones to improve audio quality
With your budget of 400,- why not upgrade the headphone and a dac/amp? Spend 300 on a good headphone and 100 on dac/amp combo. Should work out nice. For recommendations on wich headphone and dac/amp you should give some more preferences (over ear, on ear, in ear, etc).- Antilochos

Best Computer Audio Player Software?
Tried a bunch but Foobar2000 is the best for me. Not sure if played on default it's much different than the others, but with a lot of custumization options (wich made my own) et cetera, it's just a very good player. But it will be a large matter of taste I think.- Antilochos

Connect speakers to my amp/dac
Thank you for reply. The Moonprice speakers look good, but seems like they are harder to get in Europe. Prefer to order from some certain websites.- Antilochos

Connect speakers to my amp/dac
Thanks for reply. I had two different speakersets already selected; I prefered passive speakers so that is my first choice but don't know if they would work with the Fostex amp, so looked also for a set of active as backup plan: - Teufel Ultima 20 MK2 (passive), being € 149,- in discount (not...- Antilochos

Connect speakers to my amp/dac
I use a Fostex HP-A3 amp/dac for my headphones and it works good. But I want to connect some speakers to the HP-A3 at the same time (since it has the button to switch between source). Have not yet choose a pair of speakers, since I'm a idiot when it comes to these things; I don't know how to...- Antilochos

Weird sound problem
I kind of "plug&play" the two divices and know nothing about their drivers (or how to change anything with them). Is it wise to mess around with the drivers for someone like me?- Antilochos

Weird sound problem
Direct via motherboard cq soundcard I have not tried yet, but when I try the old FiiO, the problem is not there. That's why I think it must by something typical for the Fostex. The difference I found between both so far is in samplespeed (is that the right translation?); FiiO has 48,0 kHz while...- Antilochos

Weird sound problem
I always used a FiiO E10 on my pc for my headphones (Beyerdynamics DT770 and DT990). Now I replaced the FiiO for a Fostex HP-A3. The Fostex works great in every aspect and with every program I run on my pc, except for one particular game (Arma 3). And even with this game the sound is good in...- Antilochos

I need a headphone suggestion
I think in that price range you can't go wrong. It's all quality, but then it comes to what kind of sound/headphone do you like personaly. Me, I like the Beyerdynamic's; they are comfortable and have some bass. The T70 or T90 (depending if you want closed or open; both carry good bass but 70...- Antilochos

Reply to review by 'antilochos' on item 'Fostex HP-A3'
Must say I felt the same thing. Coming from lower end dac/amps (like FiiO E10) and reading/watching a lot of reviews this Fostex was the one that stuck. Could buy it new for € 209,- and with my DT990 Pro and DT770 Pro it runs very fine. Thanks for your review.- Antilochos

Requirement for Headphone Amps
There are many choices in that budget and is just what you want. Portable or not? Good looking or not? Combi or not? Many in-out or not? Etc. One on the top of your budget and wich comes highly recommended is the Aune X1. Bottem of your budget could be the Schiit Fulla like mentioned...- Antilochos
