Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
Hello again. I wonder if it would be possible to apply the Modern User Interface patch to a more recent build of Rockbox? I'm trying out the latest dev build to see if it resolves a couple issues i've been having (occasionally, sound cuts out for a fraction of a second in one channel and the...- andrewberge

Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware
Hey cholero, i don't know if you'll see this but i want to give you a huuuuge thank you for all your work. I just got a DX50 so that i could just copy+paste my music collection to my player without worrying about transcoding and replaygain. I at first followed the instructions in the first post...- andrewberge

Recommendations: A replacement for Cowon J3
Couldn't find a recommendation subforum or thread, so hopefully this is okay. After seven years of faithful service, my Cowon J3's headphone jack is worn out, constantly cutting out the left channel. Kind of maddening as otherwise it's 100% functional. Attempts at repair have been fruitless...- andrewberge

Non-Recurrent Shuffler - Shuffle a playlist so that Artists (or other tags) are never placed twice in a row.
Updated. I decided to rewrite this thing to make it easier to use. You can now just drag and drop a playlist file onto the exe to shuffle it, or you can use the command line for a few advanced options. I'm unfamiliar with GitHub, but you should be able to download the zip here: NRS v2016.- andrewberge

Budget headphones for hearing impaired
I will, thanks :) Thanks for these posts. I've never really thought about how hearing loss can vary and needs to be dealt with differently from person to person. Unfortunately i can't force someone to get proper hearing aids. I'll be sure to mention the issue though. Am i correct...- andrewberge

Budget headphones for hearing impaired
I'm in an auditorium setting and need to find good headphones for use by the hearing impaired. I received a complaint that the current set we're using is uncomfortable (and it is). So i need something very comfortable, very sensitive (read: can play loud), and preferably under $50. I might...- andrewberge

Yes. And their presentation isn't great. But if they can make something as good as the PC version, my $25 is well spent.- andrewberge

What are head-fi members views on apt-x lossless codec (over bluetooth)?
Good point. It's not just about the codec. I don't know which one it uses, but the Cowon J3 adds some pretty bad artifacts when playing over bluetooth, while my laptop sounds just fine.- andrewberge

Why the cable myth won't go away
Pro-tip: In the science section, telling a personal experience doesn't cut it. You need to find a way to prove any claim. Otherwise you'll get the kind of response you got. Sorry about the tinnitus, i have a mild case of it myself and it's annoying enough.- andrewberge

"Please Stop 'Burning In' Your Earphones"
I agree with your examples, but i still think the question was pointless as far as burn-in goes. Here's my personal experience with Panasonic RP-HT722, over hundreds of hours of listening: i perceive no difference in sound between today and the day i bought them. Is that information of...- andrewberge

"Please Stop 'Burning In' Your Earphones"
I can't speak for others, but it took more than one single article to convince me that burn-in isn't all it's claimed to be. There's no shortage of personal anecdotes out there claiming that burn-in is real or false. I'm sorry, but you haven't brought anything new to the table, and...- andrewberge
