What kind of static issues? I'm liking how it sounds more and more...not sure if that's burn in or my ears getting used to them. This dac seems to love acoustic/classical music.

Is your dacmagic new as well? I have the same cable as you and I don't find the sound different at all but then again I came from straight out of the MBP to A5s.

Yes sir, I am using optical out but I must admit my music varies from 192 to 256 to Apple lossless. I haven't had the chance to re-rip my cds.

I just got the Lifatec mini to toslink cable but I'm still waiting for my DAC. The build quality seems pretty good.

My Dacmagic is on the way from Audioadvisor I also ordered lifatec mini to toslink from my MBP to dacmagic and blue jeans cable rca to min to my A5 I'm so excited! This will be my first decent setup.

Don't worry about the bass comment as this differs from ear to ear. You may find the bass lacking for your taste.

I never knew about it till I read about it here cause I usually turn it when not in use. If AE confirms that this is normal then it doesn't bother me. To the OP buy what u think it's going to work for u cause we have suggested both options.

Mine is roughly 6" from the wall but I gain a few inches because I angle it toward me. My desk is 63" long 25" deep and it's a little cramped with 23" acd mbp and tablet but it's all good
