Comfy Closed Cans
Due to an unfortunate accident, the headband on my Equation RP-21 has broken, and I'm considering a new pair of headphones. As a matter of preference, I usually go for closed headphones because of isolation, and due to some less-than-pleasant memories of my RP-21, I'm thinking I'd like my next...- Aar0n

V-moda Vibes... The review is finished. (56k beware, big pics...)
My good 'ol first generation Vibes have fallen victim to stress damage along the plug. I managed to patch things up with a band of electrical tape, but the sound seems to have changed slightly. (Left ear is more "full" sounding than right. Could this be a driver damage or just an incomplete...- Aar0n

EQUATION AUDIO EARTOOLS: REVIEW
Instrument separation is excellent on the RP-21s. Everything blends together just fine, but if I really want to get into a certain part of a song, it's really easy. The large soundstage is also really cool for pinpointing instrument locations, and pretty good for gaming to boot.- Aar0n

EQUATION AUDIO EARTOOLS: REVIEW
How much deeper are those vinyl ones compared to the stock earpads? The stock ones still let my ears touch the grates around the drivers, just a little bit, so if the new pads are deep enough, I'll be very happy.- Aar0n

EQUATION AUDIO EARTOOLS: REVIEW
Not meaning to dabble in thread necromancy, but I just de-foamed my RP-21's, and I'm very pleased with the results. A lot of my comfort gripes about the RP-21's came from the foam pads pressing on my ears, and that issue is now solved. As for the sound... Wow! It's like these things just chugged...- Aar0n

End all "Which gaming headphones" Thread
The Equation RP-21 should be up on there. Pretty comfy, nice balanced sound, and plenty of soundstage. (Now, if only I had a 5.1 to stereo downmixer...)- Aar0n

anyone use iPhone w/ portable amp + Ety-4s ?
Yeah, it seems only headphones with very thin housing around the jack will actually fit. It wouldn't be too hard to find an adapter that would allow the use of any headphone, but it is another hassle.- Aar0n

Sennheiser in Transformers!
If anyone goes to see Transformers, keep a lookout for a pair of Senns. When a team of scientists analyzes an audio signal, two of them are clearly wearing Sennheiser HD-25-1's. The revision you see is as follows. It's nice to see someone other than Bose featured in a movie for once. (Mods...- Aar0n

Test your hearing
69.4% on the tone perception test. I thought I was a bit better than that, seeing as I have almost no ability to read music and go by perceived tone alone. (I'm in choir and I've continually dodged the music-reading bullet with my good ear.)- Aar0n

Headphone for monitoring and listening to music

Headphone for monitoring and listening to music
Yeah, the DT-770 is pretty bassy. Not exactly the best of monitoring. Chalk up another vote for the RP-21. A clear, neutral sound with a slight nuance of extra bass. They're very nice for enjoyment-listening.- Aar0n

EQUATION AUDIO EARTOOLS: REVIEW
Mine let up their deathlock on my head until I started habitually setting them down on my desk with the drivers rotated to lay flat. This stretched the headband just enough to make them more comfortable. As far as comfort goes, I'm using a set of pleather pads from a cheap pair of Tascams, which...- Aar0n
