iFi audio iDSD Diablo - A portable reference done our way!
Thanks, a click in or toggle power switch would have been nice, but I don’t think it is a deal breaker for me, the sounds from the Diablo seems to stretching out a bit from new, I can increase the volume a bit more than few days ago. It’s not a big deal, maybe the black feet can be a bit...- 88King

iFi audio iDSD Diablo - A portable reference done our way!
I purchased the Diablo 4 days ago to replacing my ageing iBasso D5 HJ as DAC/amp to use mainly in the office. Was originally looking at the xDSD but decided to get the Diablo to drive my HD800 around the house too. Got lucky enough to buy the last Diablo on Amazon from an approved seller at...- 88King

Sennheiser Amperior Impressions Thread
Hi, I'm looking to buy a pair of damping foams for the Amperior after my was ripped out by some friend's kids last weekend after they got their little hands on it. So far I can only find the entire padding, but I just need the thin foam circular disks that covers the driver. Can anyone...- 88King

Sony has new headphones, MDR-1R
I ordered a Sony MDR1RBT on Amazon UK, it seems to be a good deal at £100 less than on Sony online store. Now I'm little bit worried at why it is selling at discount, since the seller does not have Amazon affiliation. Do you guys think this is legit? Many thanks ...- 88King

One of my iem have a developed a small hole lately, there was a crack when I fist got it, and it since got worse and I can now see the driver through the hole. Does any one know if there is a easy way to fix this without sending it back to UM Lab? P.S. The area around the conector...- 88King

How to Judge Headphones
Quote: I found Spotify is great way for discovering new music and 320kbps is as good as you can get from streaming service. You could always purchase higher quality music you want to keep it for your own collection. I can’t answer your amp question as I do not have the HD25, but...- 88King

Sennheiser IE800 IEM's
Quote: The Merlin sounds fine without an amp, but a portable amp does make it sound much better IMO. My Merlin fit my ears perfect, so their QC is good enough for me.- 88King

REVIEW: Unique Melody Merlin - hybrid dynamic/balanced armature custom IEM
I’m using a compact camera case to store the Merlin. It’s about the same size with hard outer case and there is much more room to fit the merlin than the stock UM case. It was £5 from my local camera shop.- 88King

REVIEW: Unique Melody Merlin - hybrid dynamic/balanced armature custom IEM
Quote: I think if you want bass, the Merlin is a very good choice. I had my for 2 weeks now and the Merlin (or my ears) have open up, the bass is really powerful on the Merlin while still maintain tight/precise control of delivery and does not interfere with mid and high...- 88King

REVIEW: Unique Melody Merlin - hybrid dynamic/balanced armature custom IEM
Quote: Acoustic sounds pretty good with the Merlin, but I found drums come out the best. For example, in Hotel California, there is a couple drum beats just before the lyric starts, I never heard them standout quite as clearly with other headphones. Quote: Good thing UM don't...- 88King

REVIEW: Unique Melody Merlin - hybrid dynamic/balanced armature custom IEM
I received my Merlin on Thursday morning, after using it for 4 days; I decided to post some experiences. The Merlin took two months from sending the impressions to turning up on my door steps (minus few days of delay while I changed my mind on the order in between). The communication...- 88King

Earphones for iPhone, Help a Newbie
Found the Ultimate Ears 350vi. It is the same as above with added mic (Amazon link). And here is a review from iLounge, “hip hop in particular—will find what they’re looking for here” seem to fit your genre nicely.- 88King

Earphones for iPhone, Help a Newbie
I'd recommend Ultimate Ears UE 350; you can find it on Amazon for $50. It doesn’t have a microphone, but I think it is the best sounding earphone for that price. Maybe somebody can help recommend a good mic earphone. P.S. I don't think frugal means cheap, if more people are frugal...- 88King
