It might have been the head amp you were using... the DAC... Or, they needed to be broken in. If you lived near me I would invite you to my messy apartment and let you hear for yourself.

I used to sell audio. I have seen a few "humble" souls walking into the shop believing that the higher price tag was automatically the road to "self glory." Some will buy a $3000 headphone so they can be untouchable. They brag about what they hear is much superior to yours.... while...

I am not new to this.... nor to the close minded attitude some have about fuses. I just know what you are missing if that is the case. Sorry your system is not up to snuff to hear the nice difference an audiophile fuse can make.

Audiophiles are listening for one thing. Engineers (according to what you are saying) see cables only as a tool. A tool to achieve a needed outcome enabling them to manipulate what is heard with their board and various effect boxes. They are not listening for the finer nuances as an audiophile...

I still use litz cable for my speakers. I recently switched over to WyWires Blue speaker cables so I can get a finished look. Makes no difference if its portable. If it requires cables to connect? You can benefit. Yet, it all depends on how revealing your portable set up is. It may not...

So that was your only experience? What brand was it? That does not sound like the good AC conditioners I have my experience with. Not at all. May I ask? Was it the least expensive one you could find?
