Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)

Thanks for the interest. Can't seem to get any pictures uploaded....what you have to do is cut an "access panel" in the area/case above the op-amp socket so as you can fit in this adapter http://tamaudio.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=39_46&product_id=115 or similar, the dual to mono...

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)

I "dremmeled" the lid on one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141493804980?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%257CR40%257CR40%257CR40%257CR40%257CR40%257CR40%257CR40%257CR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D141493804980%26_rdc%3D1  fitted a dual opamp converter with opa627bp's...

    NOS DAC - Marketing BS?

With regards to the Nyquist issues has anyone tried interpolating aka upsampling in the PC i.e feeding NOS with 88.2Khz or 176.4Khz, in theory this should push the images and any aliasing to twice (or more) the "normal" frequencies. I have had no problems using the SOX resampler in foobar for...

    NOS DAC - Marketing BS?

Okey dokey then.... http://www.computeraudiodesign.com/bristol-sound-vision-best-sound-of-show-award-winner/ Distortion is cool if you adjust to for DC correct offset.

    NOS DAC - Marketing BS?

Maybe the cooking analogy works if you had three meals identically prepared and then to taste the results from gas, electric and microwaved cooked. For me NOS sounds like a "digital turntable" 3D, layered, natural, not bright or dull, that depends on the recording and importantly for me, not...

    NOS DAC - Marketing BS?

Recently joined the NOS camp...and blown out of my chair by the sound, no smoke coming out of the speakers or headphones despite all that high frequency stuff, no noise artefacts noticed either. I do remember CD's sounding like this years ago (on a mid eighties Sony all in one "stack") but I...

    fake opa627's in the wild.

Bit late to this thread. I have received many 627BP's from http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1set-Dual-to-Mono-Op-amp-OPA627BP-OPA627-replace-NE5532-/261019559217?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc5fa6531 they have always tested "true". I only took one chip out of the adapter to test...it was about...

    M2Tech HiFace 2?

Don't see how anyone can argue with something that is fundamental...i.e the "Kernal", it's what the Windows sound architecture is built "on" from what I can tell, regardless of the operating system, why would anyone want to do a needless conversion from integer to floating point and the back...

Hiface Two vs. Hiface 1 vs. Xonar ST vs. DVD transport Review. Review on Tweek Geek Audio Dealer as well!

Try a powered USB hub, I use a Belkin that came with a 4A linear based supply (the hub has onboard regulation), keeps the clocks ticking over. My DAC has no output muting, so no "hash" from the DAC after shut down is a nice side effect.

    Usb 24 192khz M2tech Hiface

I have been using the USB hiface for about a 2/3 weeks now, got a Belkin F5U237QEA Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-port Hub to power it as using the computer (USB) or switched mode based power was a no-no for me regardless of the internal regulators etc, my assumption/reasoning is if the hiface is expecting...
