i'm interested to see how much of the performance will be able to be trickled down to the lower price point models. E3 driver looks absolutely massive and AMT doesn't look easy to manufacture either. Hopefully we see companies continue to push the price to performance envelope.

if those 1060's are from the oem I think they are they are likely using a driver designed very closely after audezes drivers. 

Its impressive audeze was able to do this but why do these need to exist? what will they do better than dynamic or ba iems, they are pretty competent all around already

that 20db higher bass distortion figure I quoted for the hd800s is from measurements on a site that is verboten on head-fi, but innerfidelities measurements show the same bass distortion in less detail. deny it all you want though if it makes you feel better.

the 800s has 20db more bass distortion than the original hd800. It is still better to buy an 800 and mod it with felt or cork or whatever than to buy the 800s

hopefully the pads will be easily available since the utopia pads on the elear seem to largely solve its largest issue, the 4k hole.

I would much rather see companies constantly working to improve their product instead of waiting 7 years for an update, the quality of sound will never improve if we don't keep pushing boundaries. The hd800 is a special case because of the quality of engineering and ingenuity put into it...

Just curious but what kind of computer modeling did you guys do to optimize the shape of these true flow pieces, those videos of the difference in air flow look be made with some expensive software! Also are they 3d printed or cast?
