Would either the Shure 840's or Audio Technica ATH-M50s benefit from a portable amp? I've read some mixed opinions on the matter and I'm getting confused lol.

Just looking for more opinions, Audio-Technica ATH-M50 vs Shure SRH840 what would you chose?   I listen to rap and a little rock. But what one would you go with and why?
