I quite enjoyed these photos. I would like to understand the basic build structure of headphones. I have an old pair that I would like to work on. I have been an audiophile for 50 years but new to headphones. Is there a forum on mods to headphones. Thanks, JS
@RodneyMarion Have you seen my review of it? http://headphone-earphone.reviews/2017/04/21/inspire-dennis-dragon-iha-1/
Gorgeous. How does it sound?
Wow. Nice tubes here too.
You just made my day. I love the metal base GZ34 rectifiers.
What audio and tubes are we looking at here?
Is this modded? The Modwright Truthmod version rocks.
More great sounding tubes. I have a pair.
Tungsram 6V6G are great tubes.
I have done one upgrade... I took the PORTA PRO speakers and attach them to SPORTA PRO headband.... great combination as SPORTA PRO = better headband and PORTA PRO = better sound. I also put double pads on them for extra comfort, result is great.... recommend
This box is fantastic keeping them inside when not using them, great quality
Very hard to choose between those two, such a great quality sound from both
Because of this socket shape you need to look for special / custom made cable only
Custom cable for Denon MM400 from China, very good quality, improved sound
These speakers are all i need for middle size room... was considering a subwoofer but not any more
Proper motherboard, good amplifier and Denon headphones make the listening sessions a real pleasure
So far the best headphones in terms of detailed reproduction... very underrated
amazing bass great for movies and gaming too
D600 feels more solid than they look
All these headphones sounds amazing and using all of them
Denon D600 comes with very solid cable, great quality
Denon D600 are very comfortable due to their soft padding
@cjbsat - best to ask around the "post your Grado Mods" thread - https://www.head-fi.org/threads/post-your-grado-mods.119314/
although, there won't be anyone telling you which one is 'best' or 'worst'... it's mostly small subjective differences really.
@Silvian - only the really naughty headphones that deserved it. (a lot of terrible cheap chinese headsets were ritually sacrificed)
If I was intending to build from nothing a pair of "grados" as such by buying the woods buying the head band etc cables and stuff where and who is the best for the driver or Is the make grado use the best. As I've seen nhoord red drivers and wondered if anyone has tried them
No idea why the face got so big!
"Very few headphones were harmed in the making of this album."
So there were a few
That's dedication man. Admirable.
Find out which of these are the best, read the comparison article: https://www.head-fi.org/f/threads/denon-d600-vs-denon-mm400-vs-denon-hp800.856127/#post-13617361
@cjbsat - I'd say less than 5% of these are parts.
Most are safely back inside their headphones, and any drivers that are not fully exposed or covered by a grill or acoustic-lens are photographed as such because I only perform non-destructive disassemblies and therefore seldom brute-force my way to the 'good bits' if they're held together by glue etc.
